PEDRICKTOWN — The congregation of the First Baptist Church of Pedricktown is pleased to host the 2014 Salem County CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, April 27.
CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty. Everyone is invited to participate in the Walk to be held at the First Baptist Church of Pedricktown.
Registration begins at 1 p.m. and the 1.6 mile Walk steps off at 2 p.m.
The Walk is an interfaith, community-oriented event that raises funds to help hungry people, raises awareness of hunger as an issue both globally and locally, and brings together persons of many ages and backgrounds in a common endeavor. Over the past six years, CROP Walk sponsors and walkers in Salem County have raised more than $66,000, with 25 percent of the funds raised distributed to Salem County food pantries and soup kitchens. The balance of funds raised support Church World Service and other designated international agencies and their relief and development programs.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the interfaith community to work together, knowing that we do not walk alone, as Jesus walks with us. If you are unable to participate on April 27 but would like to be a Walk sponsor or, if you would like additional information about the Walk, please call the First Baptist Church of Pedricktown office (856-299-2123).
