Library Surveying Public Computer Usage

MULLICA HILL — The Gloucester County Library System (GCLS) is conducting an online survey to evaluate how and why the public computers are being used. The University of Washington Information School and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation provide the survey. The survey asks some general questions about how patrons use the library, the library’s website, and other services and how this may have helped patrons in their lives. The survey also asks specific questions related to the use of the library’s computers and Internet connection in the following areas: education, employment, entrepreneurship, health and wellness, eGovernment, civic engagement, eCommerce, and social inclusion. The information is collected and analyzed by the University of Washington, and GCLS will receive a report. Originally created for a nation-wide study, it is now being made available to libraries on a local scale. This survey is confidential and does not collect any personally identifiable information. You must provide your year of birth but all other questions are optional, so you are free to not answer any questions you do not want to answer. You must be at least 14 years old to take the survey.
