FLITCRAFT – Alberta B. Flitcraft, age 97 of Monroeville, died May 29 in Deptford Center. Born in Mullica Hill, daughter of the late Talbot and Ann (Shoulders) Brown, she was the eighth of nine children. Alberta was a 1934 graduate of Glassboro High School. After high school, she worked at the sewing factory in Woodstown and then for Owens-Illinois in Glassboro until she stayed home to raise her children. After her children were grown, she worked as a secretary at South Harrison Twp. School and eventually retired from Dr. Harris’s office in Mullica Hill as a receptionist. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, and was always involved in church activities. In fact she and her husband founded and taught the “Cross and Crown” SS class and Ferrell Methodist Church and the “Faithful Few” SS class at Harrisonville Methodist Church. She was a member of Friendship U.M. Church at her passing. She was involved in the PTA while her children were in school, and later in life, she loved to read to children, including her won grandchildren, at Hourani’s Preschool in Elmer where she was affectionately known as “Granny Bert”.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonny Lea (Don) Sheffield; her daughter, Betsy Flitcraft; her son, C. William (Dawn) Flitcraft; her daughter, Carlene Flitcraft; her grandchildren, Rick (S9san) Krassow, Kim (Neil) Hiller, Brett Skinner, Jodee (Jamie) Wilt, Ben Doerrmann, Ike and Dan Flitcraft; her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kate Hiller, Eric Krassow, and Sadie Wilt; two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carl, in December of 1988, and all of her siblings.

COLES – Mary Emma Coles, 87, went to be with the Lord on the morning of May 26 after declining health. She has been a resident of Pitman Manor for the past 7 years where she was quick with a smile and enduring conversation.
Mary grew up in Billingsport and later moved to Clarksboro where she lived for many years. In her career as a secretary she worked for several employers. She took pride in dressing professionally and doing her job well. Outside of work, Mary’s passions were reading and traveling. She enjoyed many trip with family and friends.
She enjoyed many holiday meals at her in-laws’ home in Bridgeport where she loved getting together with the extended family. Mary was always interested in what each one was doing.
Mary was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She loved her church and sang in the choir for many years.
Her smiling face and engaging personality will be missed.

SPENCE – Frances M. (Gerstenlauer) Spence age 87, passed away on May 30. Frances was born in Paulsboro and present most of her life living in Mullica Hill. For many years she worked at Mantua Metals in Woodbury Heights, NJ. Wife of the late Harold H. Spence Sr., she is survived by children Patricia, Frances, Linda, Sara, Harold, and Charles. Also 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister Sara Keller. Predeceased by daughter Laura Hunt, son William Spence, granddaughter Jennifer Swan, brothers William and Louis.

KUPSEY – Jacqueline A. “Jackie” Kupsey (nee Alcott) age 70 years, of Logan Township died June 2 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Bridgeport and graduation from Paulsboro High School in 1962. Mrs. Kupsey worked as an Administrative Secretary in Gibbstown and as Secretary to the Tax Assessor in Logan. She also seved as Planning Board Secretary for Logan and on the School Board in Logan Township. Mrs. Kupsey enjoyed dancing and trips to North Wildwood.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Stanley Kupsey Sr., of Logan Township, her children, Jillian Davison of Clinton, South Carolina, Jack Kupsey of Logan Township, Stanley Jr. and Colleen Kupsey of Woodbury Heights; her grandchildren, Jade, Chyna, Victoria, Jared, Carley, Colin and Camryn; her great grandsons, Jonathan and Jack; her sisters, Carole and Sam Giordano of Clarksboro, Janet and Dean Montemore of Gibbstown, Cindy and Tom Richardson of Gibbstown, and a large extended family.

McLEESTER – Elsie D. McLeester (nee Stanger) of Mullica Hill, formerly of Gloucester City and Westville Grove, NJ passed away peacefully on June 3 at the age of 93 years.
Devoted to her family, Elsie cherished spending time with them at Shawcrest in Wildwood. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, singing, dancing and cheering for the Phillies.
Born in Deptford, Elsie was raised in Westville Grove and served as the Municipal Court Clerk in Gloucester City and also a telephone operator for NJ Bell. Elsie was also a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, Haddonfield Chapter #140.
Beloved wife of the late James Stubbs and Robert McLeester; devoted mother of Cheryl L. (Ken) Burr, William (Nancy) Taylor, Bernice (the late Phil) Campbell and Gladys Sheridan; loving grandmother of Melissa, Ken (Jennifer), Laurie, Wendy (John), Robin (Brian), Jeff (Jerilyn), Him, Andy, Judi (Tom) and great grandmother of 13; dear sister of the late Florence Stanger, Louise Ferrell, Esther Ginipro, Hiram “Harry” Stanger and John Stanger.

BILLBROUGH – Gertrude Helena (Devonshire) Billbrough, 84, passed away quietly and peacefully in her beloved Clarksboro home surrounded by loved ones on June 9. Born in the Great Depression, the Good Lord broke the mold the day she arrived on this earth, never to be used again. Daughter of James F. Devonshire and Carrie E. Sullivan, she was raised with her dearest brothers and sisters James, Virginia, Jeanette, and Herb, and was the last surviving member of that distinguished Carney’s Point clan. After graduation from Penns Grove High School, she tried her hand at nursing studies at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD, until either homesickness or the Sisters caused her to return to South Jersey.
Gertie, as she was known to her friends, was a renaissance woman – that is to say, she held a number of different jobs, had a great variety of different interests, and lived a life full of marvelous contrasts. She began her work career in the labs at E.I. DuPont; she held sales and supervisory positions with retailer W.T. Grant; and she worked in the operations department of First Fidelity Bank of Woodbury until her retirement in 1993.
It is said that a renaissance person knows a little bit about everything. That was not true in Gertie’s case – she knew everything about everything. Full of opinions, which to her were fact, she shared them early and often. She could talk to you or at you about anything from politics, like the failings of the Nixon presidency or her disappointment in the performance of President Obama (even though he had sent her a birthday card), to subjects like sports, such as the pathetic play of the Phillies and the shortcomings of Andy Reid, Donovan McNabb, and the Eagles.
Her friends will always remember Gertie as the life of the party. She could tell many a story about all the fun she had. She was a devoted fan of the Martini and Old Fashioned. Her commitment to a good time did not end as she grew in age – quite the contrary. She loved to shop for a bargain with friends and then spend the savings on a good lunch together. An invitation to Gertie assured you that your party, wedding, or other get together would be an exciting, entertaining time.
Gertie lived in her Clarksboro home for 56 years. She loved to work in her yard caring for her plants and flowers, much preferring it to cooking and cleaning. She was an active member of her community, serving on the Gloucester County Elections Board and on the East Greenwich Board of Health and its Planning Board. She was a member of her town’s Democrat Club. Indeed, it is safe to say that she never voted for a single Republican running for any local, state, or federal elective office. Ever.
Like all renaissance women, she was a woman of great faith. As a parishioner at Church of the Incarnation in Mantua for over 50 years, she saw the church grow from its small beginning to its large size today. Regardless of the church building attended, she always elected to sit in the back rows for Mass. Notwithstanding that great faith, in her last days, after receiving the last sacraments, Father observed she still had a bit of the devil left in her. Which she did!
Her true life’s passion was her family. On her own, in the smallest of houses, and as a working mother, she successfully raised her four beloved children, Bart (Patti) of Miami, FL; Carrie E. Hoffman of Pitman; Jaymie (Steve) Goodman of Haddon Heights, and Timothy of Brigantine. In her later years, she drew even gr eater joy form the blessings of her grandchildren, Logan and Devin Billbrough of Miami, FL. Caroline Hoffman of Pitman; and Spencer Goodman of Haddon Heights. She loved the trips she took with her family to the plush green landscapes of Oreland, to the coast of California, to Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod, to the familiar sands of the Jersey Shore, and a cruise to Caribbean. In her last days, she when on and on about how good her family had been to her, but it was she who had been so good to us.
There will never be another like her. Gertie was a person of immense strength, which flowed from a combination of toughness, bigheartedness, and love. She was loyal to a fault, which to her was no fault at all. If you were a friend of hers, you were a friend forever. But most of all, Gertie was fun. She was one-of-a-kind. It was hard to take a picture of her that did not capture her zest for life. From the outside, it may have appeared she had it though, but Gertie thought otherwise. Even in her last days, as illness sapped all her strength, she could still muster enough energy to tell us all about how much fun it had been and how she enjoyed the good times over her 84 special years. She stated how much she wanted to dies as her mother had, quietly and peacefully, I her own home. And, as always, she did exactly as she wanted.

FALZONE – Anthony M. Falzone, aged 87, of East Greenwich Township, formerly of Collingswood died peacefully at his home on June 10.
Tony was a hardworking man who was devoted to his family. He was a proud US Marine Corps Veteran of WWII. For 25 years many memories were made in Sea Isle City where family would gather for vacations. Prior to retirement in 1994, Tony was employed with NJ Bell Telephone for 42 years.
He is the beloved husband of 58 years to Elizabeth M. (nee McHugh); devoted father of Marybeth (Mark), Mike (Jane), Janice, Daniel (Jeanne) and Alex (Lisa); loving grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of one; dear brother of Carmela Hughel.

MISKOFSKY – Peter J. Miskofsky age 63 years of Mickleton died June 15 in him home. Pete was born in Woodbury, raised in Gibbstown and graduated from Paulsboro High School Class of 1969. He was also a graduate of Gloucester County College. After graduation, Pete worked as a machinists marine and later in Combat Systems at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard; he later worked at Lakehurst as a Combat Systems Inspector. Pete was a past Committeeman and Deputy Mayor of East Greenwich Township where he also served on the Planning Board He was proud to serve the town that he loved. Pete enjoyed bowling, baseball and was an avid WWF wrestling fan. In his free time he restored pinball machines and juke boxes and was a train enthusiast.
He is survived by his sweetheart, Michelle Fimaini of Pittsgrove; his brother, Robert and Kathy Miskofsky of Turnersville; his brother-in-law, Steven and Susan Ball of Williamstown; his niece, Tricia Elliot; his nephews, Steven and Scott Ball; his great nephew, Benjamin Elliot and his furry kids, Tiki and Penny. Mr. Miskofsky was predeceased by his wife, Diane Miskofsky and his parents, Pete and Betty Miskofsky.

LISTMAN – Faye Listman died at home in Mullica Hill on June 15, surrounded by family and friends.
Wife of the late Ronald, Faye is survived by three children, Dianne Pasley (David) of Mullica Hill, Ronald (Maria) of Sewell, and Joseph of Greensboro, NC; her four beloved grandchildren, Alex and Rachel Pasley, and Reana and Rylan Listman; her sister Doris Jones (Rick) of Ventnor, her brother Gary Kravitz of Miami, and her special friend Debbie Kennedy. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Miriam Kravitz.
Faye and her husband Ron started Royal Pallet in East Greenwich 37 years ago. The business continued family owned and operated after Ron passed, with Faye running the business with the always present support of her children. Faye was a hardworking, successful business woman who remained extremely dedicated to her family.
Faye never met a stranger and loved talking with everyone. She was a member of the Woodbury Country Club for many years and participated in the country club bowling league. Faye was also involved in the Hamilton Trails Women’s Golf League. Her other interest included traveling, going on cruises and most especially, spending time with family and friends.
