Internship Opportunities At Legislative Offices

WEST DEPTFORD — Senate President Steve Sweeney, Assembly Deputy Speaker John J. Burzichelli and Assemblywoman Celeste M. Riley are encouraging residents that are eager to learn about state government to consider applying for an internship at their Third Legislative District offices. While internships are commonly associated with college students, these opportunities are also available for anyone willing to work in a fast-paced environment to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Third Legislative District, regardless of enrollment status.
“Interning with the Third Legislative District is a tremendous way to gain real-world experience in an atmosphere that allows individuals to reach their full potential,” said Senator Sweeney. “With an internship at one of our offices, those who are passionate about state government and all that it entails can get a unique perspective on the legislative process and how state legislators serve their constituents. If this is a sector that fascinates you or someone you know, our office is happy to receive new applicants for review.”
“Internships with the Third Legislative District are available year-round, so interested candidates are welcome to submit themselves for consideration for a time period most convenient to them, whether or not they are in school simultaneously,” said Assemblyman Burzichelli. “Even if school is in session, we are able to accommodate various schedules for those looking for the flexibility to be able to learn about state government while balancing class and personal obligations.”
