swed wool parks webSWEDESBORO — The Third Annual Summer Camp Connection Night will be held on Thursday, April 9 at the General Harker School Cafeteria from 7 to 9 p.m.

This event is open to all residents of surrounding communities, not just Swedesboro and Woolwich. If you have any questions, please contact Jackie Williams at jwilliams011@comcast.net for questions. The Health, Wellness and Safety Family Fun Fair will be held on Saturday, April 18 at the General Harker School from noon to 3 p.m. This event will entertain and educate and will include prizes, games, races, and fun.

The fair will be completely interactive with hands-on experience with educational games or demonstrations and screenings along with health, wellness or safety related give-a-ways.

There will be a Healthy Recipe Contest. To enter the contest, bring your recipe and five samples of it to the fair. The judging will begin 12:15 p.m., and there will be a winner from each category.

The Swedesboro Woolwich Little Theater will host “Laughter is the Best Medicine”. Adults and children are invited to bring a family-friendly joke to tell. Also bring your bikes and helmets for a Bike Rodeo hosted by the Woolwich Township Police.

Participants can learn how to save lives with demonstrations of defibrillators and CPR. Gloucester County EMS will review first aid care. Swedesboro Woolwich Fire Company will have a demonstration to see what it feels like inside a smoke-filled room and what to do to save your life.

Other activities include information to protect your planet with Earth awareness tips and fun, a fun Boot Camp workout Boot Camp and Yoga.

There is a contest to encourage the youth of our district to attend this event. The Swedesboro Woolwich School District class earning the most points at the Health Fair will earn their teacher a 50 minute massage at Hand and Stone. Swedesboro Woolwich School teachers are encouraged to send your students to the fair to earn points for the class. There will be one class winner for each SW District School of a class Fun Fitness Party.

Thanks to the S/W School District, Kingsway Regional School District, Woolwich Township Police, Woolwich Fire Department, Shop Rite of Mullica Hill, Arbonne, Hand and Stone, Lempert Orthodontics, Center Square Family Dental and Achieve Physical Therapy and Fitness for their support.

Please join us for the 911 Memorial & Museum with a Dinner Bus Trip presented by Aged to Perfection on Thursday, May 14. The cost is $85 and includes dinner at Mastori’s (five course meal), 911 Memorial and Museum, round trip motor coach, courtesy stop en-route home. Payments must be made at the Woolwich Township Municipal Building with proof of residency in Swedesboro or Woolwich.

Lastly, please mark your calendar for Locke Ave Fun Day on Saturday, May 30. Unlimited ride wristbands will be on sale for $25 at the Woolwich Township Municipal Building starting April 1 and end on May 29. Unlimited ride wristbands will be sold at Fun Day for $30.

The event promises to offer entertainment for the entire family starting at 1 p.m. and culminating in a stellar fireworks display at 9 p.m. Rain Date is Sunday, May 31.
