outdoor living web sidebarSWEDESBORO – As Spring arrives in South Jersey, the Outdoor Living and Garden Show is shaping up to be yet another awesome year with a variety of outdoor living activities that will educate and entertain the whole family.

As always, admission for the event is free. The event is held in downtown Swedesboro on Kings Highway between Franklin and Church Streets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sand sculpture artist, Matt Long (Sandman Matt), NYC will create a work of art courtesy of Woolwich Sand and Gravel’s special mix of sand. Come out to see his creation and take some time to dabble a little on your own in our sand box.

Take a journey back in time as Swedesboro Historical Society works with a group of old world crafters, from a potter, weaver, spinner, quilter, paper cutter, and wood carver, who will be on hand to demonstrate their crafts and answer your questions.

Exhibitors will display a variety of plants and shrubs, homemade items from soap to jewelry, garden art made from recycled items, fresh produce from our local farmers to working bee hives that will be on display.

For the adults there will be educational talks given by the Master Gardeners. Enjoy a wine tasting from a few of our local wineries as you listen to live music on the porch of Tavro 13.

There will be an abundance of free activities for kids, both educational and fun, throughout the day. They will have the opportunity to decorate a flower out of corks donated by Tavro 13, decorate a vase out of recycled jars, create a keepsake box from a cigar box donated by the Lit Cigar Lounge, make a jump rope out of yarn, Street Chalk Art Contest and Tree Awareness will have a tree climbing pulley for the children to experience new heights.

As we continue to cultivate our future, Swedesboro is looking to our kids to help paint fence pickets highlighting our farming heritage. The pickets will be temporarily displayed along Downtown Kings Highway then moved to their home at the Auction Lot. Register online at www.HistoricSwedesboro.com for the Fence Picket Project which is also open to adults.

Todd Marcus Exotic Birds will also be at the show displaying some of his beautiful birds.

Join Swedesboro Economic Development Committee as we embrace what Swedesboro has to offer.
