WOOLWICH TWP. — As Gloucester County prepares for its 10th year of its Dancing with the Stars Fundraiser, local veterinarian and chairman of the Swedesboro Animal Hospital, Dr. Mark Magazu, was announced as one of six participants in this year’s competition and chose Angels for Animals as his charity. The tapings of the competition begin in July and August and the finale will be taped on Sept. 24.The Angels for Animals Foundation (501c3) is an organization that raises money to help pet owners suffering from extreme financial hardship to provide veterinary care for animals facing serious medical challenges. Recently, Angels for Animals launched the Guardian Angels K9 Fund,which is solely focused on raising money to provide life-saving medical care for police and military dogs of all kinds. The fund was started in honor of a K9 hero named Judge, who was laid to rest in February 2015.
Magazu will be dancing to give back to and support the main mission of the Angels for Animals Foundation and will be contributing to the nine-year grand total of $1.4 million raised for charities since the competition’s start. Tapings for the competition will begin in July.
