Adults:

Swedesboro in the Revolutionary WarTuesday, June 16 – 7 p.m. Historical Society member Ben Carlton will be speaking on Swedesboro and its role in the Revolutionary War. Find out what treasures are right here in your neighborhood.

Adult Book Club – Tuesday, June 30 – 7 p.m. The adults will be discussing This Life in Your Hands by Melissa Coleman.

Summer Reading Programs:

Registration for Summer Reading begins. Saturday, June 27. Coming soon is our exciting Summer Reading Program “Every Hero has a Story!” Read books, attend great programs, and earn prizes donated by our local businesses. Find out how to build a robot online! Family Movie NightMonday, June 29 – 6:30 p.m. – The featured movie will be Superman, rated G. Bring your own snack! Bring the family! Bring a friend!

Two of a Kind – an interactive musical program – Tuesday, June 30 – 7 p.m. at the Bethesda Social Hall. All ages welcome. This program is entertaining, educational, and fun! “Hanging Out with Heroes at the Library,” is co-sponsored with the Swedesboro-Woolwich Park and Recreation.

Tween/Teens:

Teen/Tween Writers’ Club – Monday, June 8 – 7 p.m. Are you an aspiring writer and can’t seem to find time? Join us on the 2nd Mondays of each month to write. Feel free to share your stories or poems with the group. Get published in our Teen/Tween literary magazine.

Teen/Tween Book Club – Thursday, June 11 – 7 p.m. We will be discussing The Maze Runner by James Dashner.This will be our last class until the fall. Next year’s selections will be made at this time.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us Thursday, June 18 – 6:30 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!

Anime ClubMonday, June 22 – 5 p.m. Meet with other Anime lovers. Draw, talk about Anime, watch a movie, play or trade cards, and enjoy a snack.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Be a Literacy Buddy and work with children, learn library skills, or help plan teen activities. Do you enjoy writing? Learn how you can write reviews and create a quarterly teen newsletter. Call 467-0111 for information on how you can volunteer or become an active member.

Children:

FURever As Friends – Register your child to read to a trained therapy dog for a 15 minute time slot – This month’s date will be Mondays, June 1 & 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please register by calling 467-0111 or at the library. Permission slips are required.

Math Club – Thursday, June 4 – 7 p.m. Best suited for 4th – 6th grade. This will be our last math club until the fall.

Maker Space – Monday, June 8 – 5 p.m. Learn how to use snap circuits, makey makey, and Little Bits.

Coding – Monday, June 15 – 5 p.m. Learn beginning coding. Best suited for ages 9-12.

Toddlers & Babies:

Please register for all programs – space is limited

Tuesday Story Time – Story Time is a fun time! We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (Tuesdays, June 2, 9, 16, 23, & 30).  Story Time is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Wednesday Story TimeWednesday morning story time meets at 10:30 a.m. June’s dates are June 3, 10, 17, & 24 – Library meeting Room. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays. Baby Time will be held on Thursdays, June 4 & 18 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs.  This month’s date are Thursdays, June 11 & 25– 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Literacy Buddies – The Literacy Program provides one-on-one assistance to children learning English, phonics and reading skills, and math and Language Arts. Children interested in having a literacy buddy during the 2013-2014 school year should contact the library at 467-0111. Teens interested in being a literacy buddy, please contact the library.
