Assault and Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

LOGAN TWP. — Police here have charged a 25 year old former Logan Township man,

with armed robbery, aggravated assault and theft following an incident that occurred on Shady Brooke Lane on July 16.

At approximately 11:10 a.m., the accused and the victim, who are casual acquaintances who reside at the Mayfair Motel in Sicklerville, were driving in Logan when it is alleged that Shakespeare suddenly produced a knife, placed it at the victim’s throat and demanded his money. Shakespeare took the victim’s wallet which contained over $200 and a pack of cigarettes and then fled into a nearby wooded area.

Logan Township Police Officers, assisted by Woolwich Township Police, canvassed the neighborhood and subsequently located Shakespeare as he emerged from the woods on Lakeside Drive. He was processed and committed to the Salem County Jail in default of $150,000 full cash bail set by Superior Court Judge Christine Allen Jackson.

The investigation and subsequent arrest was the result of a collaborative effort by Logan’s patrol and Detective Units.
