Adults:

Antique Appraisal & ProgramWednesday, Aug. 12 – 6 p.m. Appraisals are done by Victorian Vanities, Inc. Learn about your antiques and have one of your items appraised for free. No guns, gold jewelry, or Nazi memorabilia will be appraised. Registration is required. Space is limited to the first 40 registered patrons. Register at www.gcls.org or call 856-467-1693.

Cupcake Decorating – Wednesday, Aug. 26 – 6:30 p.m. Learn to decorate cupcakes with flowers. Space is limited. Must be registered. Call 856-467-0111 or go to www.gcls.org.

Tween/Teens:

Service Opportunity and craft – Tuesday, Aug. 11 – 6:30 p.m. Learn how to make a fleece blanket and show kindness to someone else. The blanket will be given to a child at the Children’s Hospital (CHOP). Limited to eight teens.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us Thursday, Aug. 13 – 6:30 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time.

Anime ClubMonday, Aug. 31 – 4 p.m. Enjoy like-minded lovers of Anime and Manga. View an Anime movie, play Yugioh and Pokémon, trade cards, and/or draw Manga characters. Feel free to dress in character. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Be a Literacy Buddy and work with children, learn library skills, or help plan teen activities. Do you enjoy writing? Learn to write reviews and create a quarterly teen newsletter. Call 467-0111 for information on how you can volunteer or become an active member.

Children:

Coding – Learn beginning Computer Coding Skills with Scratch – Mondays, Aug. 10 & 24 – 4 p.m.

Family Bingo – Monday, Aug. 10 – 6:30 p.m. – Have fun playing variations of bingo – T bingo, 4 squares, whole board, and more! Win prizes and enjoy a relaxing, fun evening with family and friends.

Maker Space days – Thursday, Aug. 13 – 11 to 12 p.m. & Monday, Aug. 24 – 2 p.m. Staff will surprise children with a project from our Maker Space cart! Best suited for 1st through 6th grade.

Science Maker Space Days – Thursday, Aug. 13 & 27 – 2 p.m. Join Miss Jennifer for a special, surprise science project. Space is limited so please register at www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111. Best suited for 3rd through 6th grade.

Abrakadoodle Art – Monday, Aug. 24 – 7 p.m. Don’t miss a fun night of creativity and relaxation. Space is limited. Children must be registered. Go to www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111.

Toddlers & Babies:

Tuesday Story Time – Story Time is a fun time!  We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (Tuesdays, Aug. 11 & 25).  Story Time is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Wednesday Story TimeWednesday morning story time meets at 10:30 a.m. August’s dates are Aug. 12, 19, & 26 – Library meeting room. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays.  Baby Time will be held on Thursday, Aug. 6 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs.  This month’s date is Thursdays, Aug. 27 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Literacy Buddies – The Literacy Program provides one-on-one assistance to children learning English, phonics and reading skills, and math and Language Arts. Children interested in having a literacy buddy during the 2013-2014 school year should contact the library at 467-0111. Teens interested in being a literacy buddy, please contact the library.
