50 Safest Towns In New Jersey

safest webWOOLWICH TWP. —  Once again, Woolwich Township/Swedesboro was named as one of the top 10 safest places on the list of the safest places to  live in New Jersey from data compiled by the security company Safewise. Adding to this year’s list is East Greenwich.

Woolwich Township placed ninth on the list and East Greenwich Township placed 50. These were the only towns from Gloucester County making the top 50 list. The city of Catham in Morris County finished first.

Safewise used data reported to the FBI from communities of 10,000 or more in 2013.

According to a different survey, this one from ValuePenguin, Woolwich Township and Swedesboro were named as the fourteenth safest city in New Jersey. East Greenwich ranked of 93, Harrison Township ranked 100, and Logan Township ranked 222.

The survey included crime metrics across 353 cities in the state using statistics from the 2013 FBI Crime Report. Logan Township ranked 222 because of more reported violent crimes in proportion to its population.

The top 10 towns in the survey were listed in order as New Hanover Township, Old Tappan, Tewksbury Township, Chatham Township, Park Ridge, Byram Township, Emerson, Wyckoff Township, Waldwick, Norwood.
