Adults:

Sewing Classes – Wednesdays, Nov. 18, & 25 – 3:30 p.m. Must have some sewing skills. Bring your own projects. Simple projects will be made or bring your own. Skills to be covered are mending, hemming, button sewing, and using patterns. Teens welcome. Bring your own sewing machine. Space is limited – please register.

Make a Thanksgiving Wreath – Wednesday, Nov. 18 – 6:30 – The instructor will be Amy Davis from Petals and Paints.

Adult Book Club – Join us for our adult book club that meets on the last Tuesday of each month.  This month’s selection will be The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin.  October’s date is Tuesday, Nov. 24, 7 p.m.

Tween/Teens:

Teen/Tween Writers’ Club – Monday, Nov. 9 – 7 p.m. If you love writing, need new ideas, like sharing ideas/stories/poems, and/or learning new writing techniques and types of writing – this club is for you. Your writing could be part of our new quarterly teen/tween literary magazine, Teen Express.  Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Service Opportunity – Make a fleece blanket – Tuesday, Nov. 10 – 6:30 p.m. Learn how to make a fleece blanket. The blanket will be donated to a child at the Children’s Hospital (CHOP).

Teen/Tween Book Club – Thursday, Nov. 12 – 7 p.m. Join our fun discussion group and read some great selections! This month’s selection will be Spy Cat by Peg Kehret. Bring a friend.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us Thursday, Nov. 19 – 6:30 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!

Anime ClubMonday, Nov. 23 – 4:30 p.m. Enjoy like-minded lovers of Anime and Manga. View an Anime movie, play Yugioh and Pokémon, trade cards, and/or draw Manga characters. Feel free to dress in character. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Be a Literacy Buddy and work with children, learn library skills, or help plan teen activities. Do you enjoy writing? Learn to write reviews and create a quarterly teen newsletter. Call 467-0111 for information on how you can volunteer or become an active member.

Children:

March in the Swedesboro Christmas Parade – Saturday, Nov. 28 – 12 p.m. Each year the GCLS Swedesboro Library participates in the Swedesboro Christmas Parade. This year our FURever As Friends therapy animals will join us. Dress up in your Christmas shirts and hats! Help us give out candy or carry the library banner.

Make a Christmas Countdown – Monday, Nov. 30 – 6:30 p.m. Get ready for Christmas by creating your own Christmas countdown tree! Space is limited – please register.

Amazing Math Club (STEM) – Thursday, Nov. 5 – 7 p.m. 4th to 6th graders are invited the first Mondays of each month – math games, challenges, vocabulary, and more!

FURever As Friends – Register your child to read to a trained therapy dog for a 15 minute time slot – This month’s date will be Mondays, Nov. 16 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please register by calling 467-0111 or at the library. If it’s your first time, please stop at the circulation desk.

Coding – Learn beginning Computer Coding Skills with Scratch – Monday, Nov. 16- 4 p.m. Space is limited. Please register.

Toddlers & Babies:

Prince and Princess Party – Saturday, Nov. 7 – 11 a.m. Join us for our first prince and princess party. Have your picture taken with our teen prince and princess, make a craft, play a game, and have refreshments! Come dressed in your favorite princess/prince outfit!

Mother Goose – Don’t miss Mother Goose and Gertie – She’ll keep your child engaged with songs, fun, and magic! Tuesday, Nov. 17 – 10:30 a.m. – Bethesda Social Hall.

Tuesday Story Time – Story Time is a fun time! We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (Tuesdays, November 10 & 24). Story Time is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Wednesday Story TimeWednesday morning story time meets at 10:30 a.m. November’s dates are Nov. 18 & 25 – Library meeting Room. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays.  Baby Time will be held on Thursdays, Nov. 5 & 19 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s date is Thursday, Nov. 12– 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Literacy Buddies – The Literacy Program provides one-on-one assistance to children learning English, phonics and reading skills, and math and Language Arts. Children interested in having a literacy buddy during the 2015-2016 school year should contact the library at 467-0111. Teens interested in being a literacy buddy, please contact the library.

The library will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day and Thursday, Nov. 26, for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
