SENIORS OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER
MARUT RAVAL, son of Tiku and Vedangee Raval of Woolwich Township.
School Activities: Vice President of Student Council, President of National Honor Society, founder and President of World Language National Honor Society, Captain of Varsity Swim Team, varsity tennis, and member of Kingsway Dragon Student Ambassador.
Out of School Activities: Princeton Model Congress, New Jersey Model Congress, and Leadership Training Conference.
Honors/Awards: AP Scholar, Honor Mention (Princeton Model Congress), Outstanding Delegate (New Jersey Model Congress), Tri-County Conference Honorable Mention (Doubles Tennis).
Future Plans: Marut will just be taking it one step at a time. His main focus is to get accepted into a top-tier college and then he will take it from there.
JAY SCERBO, son of Jim and Jackie Scerbo of Woolwich Township.
School Activities: Captain of football, lacrosse, Vice President of Athletic Training Student Aides Club, Kingsway Dragon Student Ambassador, member of the Wounded Warriors Club, which he helped to found, and also takes part in the Young Authors’ Program.
Out of School Activities: Jay plays travel lacrosse all summer and he also has a job at Botto’s.
Honors/Awards: First Team All-Conference, Third Team All-State and was awarded Defensive MVP in his junior year of football. In lacrosse last year he made First Team All-Conference. Jay was crowned Homecoming King in October 2015.
Future Plans: Jay plans to attend Seton Hall University, where he plans on playing lacrosse, earning a degree, and participating in the ROTC program.
