lemonade webWOOLWICH TWP. — In his continuing efforts to fight back against childhood cancer, local Swedesboro/Woolwich resident and cancer fighter, 12-year-old Mario Carpino, will host a series of events to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in the coming weeks and months.

Mario has set his sights high this year, aiming to raise over $50,000 for the Foundation and the battle to find better treatments and ultimately cures for all kids with cancer. Helping Mario along the way will be family, friends and supporters who have deemed themselves Mario’s Fight.

Mario Carpino has been battling inoperable brain tumors since 2007. Though he has endured treatment for over eight years, Mario’s spirit has been unbreakable and he enjoys spending time with his friends, listening to music, and of course raising funds for his cause.

To date, Mario’s efforts have raised just over $290,000.

This year marks Mario’s 6th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Saturday, June 11 at the Woolwich Fire Department. Among the family friendly activities, there will be a fire truck blow up slide, face painting, airbrush tattoos, and an auction with baskets to match everyone’s interests.

There will also be food, ice cream, and lemonade. Mario also helped to design a very special shirt and support bracelet to commemorate this year’s lemonade stand.

On Saturday April 30 join in at Uncork Your Art in Logan Township. They will have two separate offerings for this year’s event.

In the afternoon they are holding a “Tall and Small” paint event which is great for the kids, and the perfect Mother’s Day Gift! For the adults, bring your creative energy and your favorite beverage as we paint the night away.

Five dollars of every registered guest for the two-hour class will be donated back to Mario’s $50,000 goal. You can register on www.burgundyandbrushes.com, just look for the Mario’s Fight logo on the April event calendar.

And who doesn’t love a cold treat on a warm spring day?  Join Mario’s Fight Tuesday May 10 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at YoGo Factory in Woolwich for Mario’s Fight Night. Fifteen percent of all sales go back to Mario’s fundraising efforts for his 2016 stand.
