Sewing – Tuesday, July 26 – 6-8. Learn basic sewing skills with Miss Virginia. Bring your own sewing machine. Space is limited, please register.

Basic Line Dancing – Wednesdays, July 20 & 27 – 6:30-7:30 p.m. Enjoy learning how to line dance, so come out and burn some calories! Class size is limited. Go to www.gcls to register.

Tween/Teens:

There’s still time to register for Summer Reading! Our Teen/Tween 2016 theme this year is “Get in the Game, Read!” Pick up your summer reading log and hand them in weekly to earn prizes. Summer Reading runs from June 27 to Aug. 6.

Teen Snack Voting – Teens will make several healthy snacks and vote on the best one! – Wednesday, July 6 – 4 p.m. Class space is limited.

Teen Scavenger Hunt – May the best team win!  Wednesday, July 13 – 4 p.m.  

Introduction to Yoga for Tweens – Tuesday, July 19 – 3:30 p.m. Class size limited. Must be registered.

Teen Operation Smoothie – Wednesday, July 20 – 4 p.m. Make and enjoy several kinds of smoothies! Class space is limited.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us Thursday, July 21 – 6:30 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!

Anime ClubMonday, July 25 – 4:30 p.m. Enjoy like-minded lovers of Anime and Manga.  View an Anime movie, play Yugioh and Pokémon, trade cards, and/or draw Manga characters.  Feel free to dress in character.  Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Teen Movie Afternoon – Wednesday, July 27 – 4 p.m. Bring your own snack and bring a friend! Movie TBA on online calendar.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Be a Literacy Buddy and work with children, learn library skills, or help plan teen activities. Do you enjoy writing? Learn to write reviews and create a quarterly teen newsletter. Call 467-0111 for information on how you can volunteer or become an active member.

Literacy Buddies – Looking for teens interested in being a literacy buddy beginning fall 2016. Teens will be matched up with a child who needs help learning English, learning to read, or needs help with  homework. Commitment is one hour a week. Call 856-467-0111 if you are interested.

Children:

Hoola Hoop Contest – 4th-6th grade – Thursday, July 7 – 7 p.m. How long can you keep a hoola hoop going? Do you know any tricks? Show off your talent! Please register at www.gcls.org.

Family Movie Night – Monday, July 11 – 6:30 p.m. – Movie TBA on online calendar. Bring your own snack and bring a friend!

Fencing Demonstrations – Tuesday, July 12 – 2 p.m. – Bethesda Social Hall. Have you ever been intrigued by the art of fencing? Enjoy this cool demonstration and find out more!

Center for Aquatic Sciences – “MVP: Most Valuable Predator” – Thursday, July 14 – 7 p.m. Best suited for ages 4-12. Don’t miss this fascinating program with live animals! Must be registered as space is limited.

“Power Up Your Day” – Monday, July 18 – 4 p.m. – ages 4-12. This program is sponsored by Rutgers Cooperative. Children will do fun activities to learn about the importance of breakfast and healthy choices. Please register for this program as space is limited.

FURever As Friends – Register your child to read to a trained therapy dog or cat for a 15 minute time slot – This month’s date will be Monday, July 18, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Children can pet the animals, brush them, give them treats, and watch them do tricks. Please register by calling 467-0111 or at the library. If it’s your first time, please stop at the circulation desk.

Kids’ Music Round – Monday, July 25 – 3 p.m. – Bethesda Social Hall.  Best suited for ages 2-8. Your children will have a blast singing songs, playing instruments and dancing along with Miss Marcia! Please register for this event.

Library Scavenger Hunt – Monday, July 25 – 7 p.m. in Main Library. Best suited for 2nd through 6th grade! Are you up to the challenge? Can you find all the items on the list?! May the best team win!

Make Your Own Sports Pennant – Tuesday, July 26 – 3:30 p.m. Best suited for 1st through 6th grade. Bring out your creative side – create your own pennant and show off your favorite sports and/or teams! Please register as space is limited.

Fitness & Obstacle Course – Wednesday, July 27 – 2 p.m.Bethesda Social Hall – For ages 6-12. Join Karate Instructor, T. J. Oakley, as he both talks about and shows fun ways to stay fit! Must be registered. Space is limited.

Dry Bean Art – Thursday, July 28 – 7 p.m. – Ages 6-12. Create a cool mosaic symbol of your favorite sports team! Space is limited, must be registered.

Literacy Buddies – Does your child need homework help, help with reading or learning English – call us at 856-467-0111 and we will try to match your child with a teen one hour a week.

Toddlers & Babies:

Tumblin’ Tots – Friday, July 22 – Bethesda Social Hall. We will have two classes. One from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. and a second one from 11:15 to 12 p.m. Please register for only one class. This program is for ages 2-½ to 5 years old. Your child will have a great time with organized, but fun physical activities! Space is limited. Students must be registered.

Kids’ Music Round – Monday, July 25 – 3 p.m. – Bethesda Social Hall. Best suited for ages 2-8. Your children will have a blast singing songs, playing instruments and dancing along with Miss Marcia! Please register for this event.

Tuesday Story Time – Story Time is a fun time! Hear stories, sing songs, make a craft!  We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (Tuesdays, July 12, 19, & 26). Story Time is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Wednesday Story Time and Dance – Join the fun Wednesday morning story times. Wednesday morning story time meets at 10:30 a.m. July’s dates are July 6, 13, 20, & 27 – Library meeting Room. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays. Baby Time will be held on Thursday, July 21 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s dates are Thursdays, July 14 & 28 – 10:30 a.m. Registration is required as space is limited.
