logan policeJuly 20: Police responded to a South Bridgeport Road business for a report of an individual attempting to sell a stolen motor vehicle to the business owner. Upon arrival a male fled from police on foot into a wooded area nearby. A subsequent foot chase and K-9 track failed to locate the suspect. While verifying that the vehicle, a 2010 Mercury Mariner, was in fact stolen several days earlier, patrol officers relocated the suspect in the area of Route 322 and South Bridgeport Road and engaged in another foot pursuit. The suspect, a 17 year old from Logan Township, was apprehended a short time later. He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and charged with receiving stolen property, eluding police and related motor vehicle offenses. He was then turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department to be held at a Juvenile Shelter while awaiting a Juvenile Court hearing.

July 20: Incident to a motor vehicle stop, a 26 year old Edgewater Park man was arrested on outstanding warrants from Pennsauken and Burlington totaling $3,127. He was released with new court dates after posting $300 towards the bail.

July 21: Police responded to a dispute on Liberty Court and arrested a 45 year old Logan Township man for assault. He was processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.

July 24: Incident to a motor vehicle stop, a 50 year old West Deptford woman was taken into custody for DWI. She was processed, served several summonses and released to a family member as per NJ Attorney General’s Guidelines. Same has a date pending in Logan Township Municipal Court.

July 24: Police responded to a dispute on Sussex Ct and arrested a 47 year old Logan Township man for simple assault.  He was processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.

July 25: Police arrested a 21 year old Pedricktown man on numerous outstanding warrants in excess of $8,000 after receiving a tip as to his whereabouts. He was processed and turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department for transport to the Salem County Jail in default of bail.

July 25: Police responded to a neighbor dispute on Mechanic Street and arrested a 59 year old Logan Township woman for simple assault. She was processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.

July 26: Police responded to the ACME, 1619 Center Square Road for a report of shoplifting. During a subsequent search of the area, a 25 year old Blackwood man was arrested and charged with shoplifting as well as possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was fingerprinted and photographed then released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.

July 27: Police responded to the Marriot, 3 Pureland Drive, for a report of a fight. Upon arrival a 29 year old Hunstville, MD man and a 45 year old male from Winston-Salem, NC were still actively fighting. Both were subsequently arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. The men were processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.

July 27: Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, a 51 year old Lindenwold man was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.

July 27: Police responded to Heritage’s, 501 Beckett Road, for a report of a stolen bicycle. During the subsequent investigation the bike was located in the bushes near Fulton Bank. Immediately after the bike was found, a Hispanic male fled on foot from the bus stop near the bank and ran into the woods near Main Street Dental. A search of the area failed to locate the suspect. The bike was returned to its rightful owner.

July 28: Incident to a motor vehicle stop, police arrested a 27 year old Carneys Point man on outstanding warrants with a total bail of $1,000. He was processed and released with new court dates after posting $250 towards the total bail.

July 29: In an attempt to avoid prosecution for driving with a suspended license, a 19 year old Penns Grove man was arrested and charged with hindering his own apprehension after providing false information as to his true identity while on a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.

July 30: Management at Mark IV Transportation, 750 Veterans Drive, reported that an unidentified suspect utilized a company fuel card to charge $4,528 to the company without authorization. An investigation is ongoing.

Aug. 1: A Fox Lane resident reported that he had secured a rental home in Ocean City, MD through Craigslist and sent a payment of $561 to a Westen Union location in Sioux Falls, SD. Upon arriving at the address in Maryland the victim realized that he was the victim of fraud. An investigation is ongoing in an attempt to identify the suspect.

Aug. 2: A 24 year old Hancock Street woman was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property after an investigation revealed that she had fraudulently used a stolen prepaid debit card at Rite Aid. She was processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.

Aug. 3: A 33 year old Paulsboro man surrendered to police custody on several outstanding warrants with bail amounts totaling $3,025. He was turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department to be transported to the Salem County Jail.

Aug. 3: An investigation into a report of shoplifting at the ACME, 1619 Center Square Road, resulted in charges of shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting being filed against a 50 year old Penns Grove man and a 27 year old Penns Grove woman. Both individuals subsequently turned themselves in on Aug. 4 and were fingerprinted and photographed. After being served and processed, they each utilized the services of a bail bondsman to post the $1,500 bail.
