This decision for the funds was voted upon during the September GSBA monthly meeting held at Mattioni law offices in the heart of Swedesboro. The decision as to where the funds were to be allocated was unanimous.

In attendance were the officers of the Greater Swedesboro Business Association along with the Mayor of Woolwich Township, Alan Schwager, and Deputy Mayor Frank Rizzi. Local firefighters and police officers were on hand to accept the generous donation.

These funds came from the GSBA’s annual Golf Outing held on the last Thursday in May. Local businesses and community members gather for a day of golfing and comradery. The evening is capped off with a “Taste of Swedesboro . . and beyond” dinner always held at a local venue.

Donations are overwhelming for the auction that is held through the night. This is the GSBA’s largest annual fundraiser, and everything from the evening is donated.

All proceeds from the evening are donated directly back to the community and its members. The GSBA has also donated to the local library, the town clock, the Memorial Day ceremony, the Christmas Parade and scholarships for Kingsway seniors.
