Swedesboro Woolwich Parks and Recreation Upcoming Events

parks and rec.inddWOOLWICH TWP. — The Father-Daughter Dances are happening soon.

Residents of Swedesboro and Woolwich are invited to the 2017 Father-Daughter Dances on March 11 at the Governor Charles C. Stratton School.

The Pre-K through 2nd grade dance is from 4 to 6 p.m. and the 3rd thru 6th grade dance is from 7 to 9 p.m. Limited space is available so tickets must be purchased in advance.

Tickets are on sale now on www.ticketleap.com. Further information will be posted on the Swedesboro-Woolwich Parks & Recreation Facebook page.

EGG SCRAMBLE

Swedesboro/Woolwich Annual Egg Scramble will be held on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Governor Charles G. Harker School, 1771 Oldman’s Creek Road, with our co-host Crossbridge Community Church.

HEALTH FAIR

The Health, Wellness and Safety Fair (with Summer Camp Connection) will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Kingsway Regional High School. This year, watch for Swedesboro and Woolwich Township wide activities relating to earth, wellness, and health food choices.

There will be a Healthy Recipe Contest. Bring your recipe and five samples to the fair. Judging will be at 3 p.m. Also, bring your bikes and helmets for a Bike Rodeo hosted by the Woolwich Township Police.

Participants can learn how to save lives with demonstrations of defibrillators and CPR. Gloucester County EMS will review first aid care. Swedesboro Woolwich Fire Company will have a demonstration to see what it feels like inside a smoke-filled room and what to do to save your life.

There is a New 2017 family contest available at Woolwichtwp.org (Parks and Recreation Page). Parents are invited to visit the cafeteria to learn about summer camps available in our area.

Representatives from at least a dozen summer camps will be there to provide information. Interested vendors (pertaining to any aspect of human, animal or environmental health, wellness or safety) – or  Camp Connection Vendors- should obtain an application at http://healthandsafety.webs.com, or visit www.swfun.shutterfly.com for more information.

FUN DAY

Locke Avenue Fun Day will be held Saturday, May 6 with an inclement weather date of Sunday, May 7. Unlimited ride wristbands on sale now for $25 (plus processing fee) at https://swfunday2017.ticketleap.com/.

The presale will end on May 5, a separate ticket booth will be available to pick up your wrist bands when you arrive at Fun Day. Unlimited ride wristbands will also be sold at Fun Day for $30.

The event promises to offer entertainment for the entire family starting at 1 p.m. and culminating in a spectacular fireworks display at 9 p.m. Interested vendors may obtain forms by visiting the Parks and Recreation Pages at www.historicswedesboro.org or www.woolwichtwp.org.

Remember, Parks and Recreation Members work hard while having a great time throughout the year to provide fun community events. Do you have ideas to contribute? Consider becoming a Parks and Recreation Committee Member.
