The list of towns was made by the New Jersey Family, who measured each municipality with factors including crime rates, affordability, school district quality, commute times, percentage of families who live there, access to hospitals, and general lifestyle factors.

Other local town’s statewide rankings are: East Greenwich 104; Swedesboro 110; Harrison Township 147; South Harrison Township 159; and Logan Township 202.

Taryn Pire from New Jersey Family writes, “It’s safe to say Woolwich Township has the best of both worlds: the appeal of a small, peaceful community with proximity to Philadelphia. Locals can drive to Philly in just under an hour, or take NJ Transit bus route 401 from nearby Salem. Considered the fastest growing municipality in the area, Woolwich is slowly becoming better known for its modern conveniences and growing housing opportunities.

Despite its growth in terms of population and housing, the township prioritizes maintaining its notable open space and stunning natural landscape. Woolwich Township farmers are known for having some of the most fertile soil in the state and are a huge part of this agricultural community, both economically and socially.

Residents boast about the town park on Locke Avenue, which contains soccer fields, sporting equipment, a jogging trail, baseball diamonds and more. The town recently acquired more acreage to expand the park in order to accommodate Woolwich’s growing population. Locke Park is also home to movie nights, Fun Day, National Night Out, the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and Swedesboro/Woolwich Day.
