BUNDENS — Eva Bundens (nee Walter) age 98 years of Gibbstown died Wednesday, March 22, in Elmer Hospital. Mrs. Bundens was born in Paulsboro, raised in Clarksboro and graduated from Swedesboro High School Class of 1936.
Mrs. Bundens and her future husband were very athletic and formed an intramural team known as the BenEva’s. After her marriage in 1939 and her honeymoon on “Nassau St.” in Paulsboro they moved to Gibbstown in 1950.
She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael’s Church; a lifetime member of the P.T.A.; a Red Cross Volunteer and also volunteered on the Gloucester County Election Board. Along with her husband, Mrs. Bundens delivered Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her children, Benjamin R. and Mary Jo Bundens of Wilmington, DE, Mary and Richard Holverstott of Wyandotte, MI, Donald and Kathy Bundens of Gibbstown, Jeanne and Joseph Rossiter of Mercerville, NJ; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and her brother, Frank and Eleanor Walter of Pinehurst, NC. Mrs. Bundens was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin K. Bundens Jr., her sister and seven brothers.

DeMARCO — Frances DeMarco (nee Madonna), age 76 years, of Mickleton died Sunday March 26 in Inspira Hospital, Woodbury, surrounded by her family. Mrs. DeMarco was born and raised in Philadelphia, lived in West Deptford and moved to Mickleton in 1973.
She retired as Supervisor of Records for the Gloucester County Clerk’s Office. Mrs. De Marco was a doting mother and grandmother, enjoyed trips to Pine Haven Campground and her pet cats, Smokey and Snookie.
She is survived by her children, Joseph and Lee Madonna of Conshohocken, PA, Lisa and Brian Owen of Clarksboro, Jody and Jennifer DeMarco of Cherry Hill, Jason DeMarco and Colleen Byrne of Mullica Hill; her grandchildren, Brian and Nathalie, Joseph, Gabby, Jaimie, Allison, Danny, Mia, Max, Maximus, Julius and Jace and her sister, Dolores “Snookie” Raimando of Kennett Square, PA. CRAFORD – Robert Michael Crawford, 88. Best be home lickity split when you heard his whistle. Bob was a no nonsense kind of dad. But, he was one of the beloved dads in the neighborhood; the one who took the time to tease all the kids. He looked around one day and saw lots of acreage and decided that his kids looked like they had some spare time on their hands. It was all put to good use with the advent of his Christmas tree farm. Summertime for planting and trimming; wintertime for cutting down and selling.
His house was next to the fire department alarm, so he figured besides sounding the alarm he might as well put out the fires too. Bob was the chief in Auburn for many years and even played Santa at the firehouse events. Some said he was close to a dollar unless it came to splurging on tools. “Don’t throw that out, I might need it someday!” you’d hear him exclaim about everything imaginable. His other expressions probably aren’t fit for polite company, but they’d make you smile. He was a chemical operator for DuPont; but even all that couldn’t keep him from being restless. Just for fun he’d go pump gas on the turnpike.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy. They were blessed by children: Stephen (Reggie), Reed (Irene), Jack (Zoeann), Susan (Mitchell) Press, Cindy Tempalski, Bernie Tempalski, Barbara Tempalski and Irene (Bill) Tempalski; and he’s survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. LANGE — Quentin C. Lange, age 97 of South Harrison Twp., died Sunday, April 2 in the Vineland Veterans Memorial Home. Born and raised on the Lange Farm in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Ernest & Elizabeth (Magin) Lange. Quentin was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was a self-employed mechanic, owning and operating Lange’s Garage in Harrisonville. He enjoyed all sports, especially golfing, bowling, and softball.
Quentin was an excellent musician, and he mastered many different instruments. He played in several bands, including the Swedesboro Hillbillies and the Four Sharps. He had served his community as both mayor of South Harrison Township and as member of the Harrisonville Fire Company.
Quentin is survived by his daughter, Diane Trovero; his son, Ronald Lange; his nephew, William Lange; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Hannah May in January of 1984; his second wife, Ludwina “Heidi” Lange, in September of 2009; his son, John, in September of 2015; and seven brothers and sisters.

NEWCOMER — Marlyn L. Newcomer, age 75, of Woolwich Township, formerly of Pennsville, NJ and York, PA, passed away on April 3 in the comfort of his home. Marlyn was born in 1941, in Windsor Township, PA, the son of Noah and Jennie (Glatfelter) Newcomer. He graduated from Red Lion High School, Red Lion, PA in 1959.
He worked briefly as a rural mail carrier for the York post office, before joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and beginning a career as a welder and welding engineer. As a welding engineer for Bechtel, he relocated to Pennsville, NJ in 1977 and worked at the Hope Creek Nuclear Power Plant until he retired in 1987.
Upon retirement he became active in education and youth programs, serving as a member of the Pennsville Township Board of Education, Pennsville Recreation Committee, and a 20-year member of the Pennsville Municipal Alliance on Substance Abuse. He was an inspiration for the creation of The Loft (formerly The Teen Center), and was instrumental in its establishment and administration during the founding years. Marlyn also served in the Army National Guard, and was a Free Mason for 43 years.
Marlyn is preceded in death by parents and his brother Mervin E. Newcomer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann (Wilson) Newcomer, his daughter Charisse (Newcomer) Rossi and son-in-law Dino Rossi, and beloved granddaughter Giuliana.

STUBBS — William George Stubbs, 78, of Mullica Hill passed away April 4. Born and raised in Gloucester City, Bill later resided in Mullica Hill.
He graduated from Rutgers with a BA and Master’s in Educational Administration. Bill began his career teaching English and Spanish at Paulsboro High School. He went on to become principal at West Deptford Middle School and ultimately principal at West Deptford High School. After retirement, he had interim positions at Paulsboro High School and Rowan. Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife and on school trips. He was a lifelong Phillies fan and an avid reader. He enjoyed exercise and time with his family down the shore.
Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marguerite (nee Piazza); sister-in-law, Pauline (nee Piazza) Freund (Edward); nephew, Joseph (Melissa) Freund and their children, Anthony and Amelia; nephew, Mark (Jillian Whidby) Freund and their daughter, Maria; nephew, David Nitzky; numerous cousins and countless friends, colleagues, and students.

SUAREZ JR. — Manuel J. Suarez Jr. age 74, of Mullica Hill (Mantua Township) passed away Thursday, April 6, with his family by his side. Manuel was a member of Carpenter’s Union Local 393. He enjoyed spending his time as a member of the Dividing Creek Deer Club, and going crabbing, fishing, hunting, and antiquing. He also enjoyed gardening, and had a true passion for woodworking.
Manuel was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Claudette (nee Shensky); his daughters, Denise Suarez, Karen Suarez, Kristine (Allen) Valentine, and Linda (Arnaud) Voermans; grandchildren, Olivia Suarez, Josie and Andre Voermans. GORMAN — James C. Gorman age 76 years of Mickleton died Sunday April 9 in Penn Hospice, Philadelphia with his family by his side. Mr. Gorman was born in Woodbury, raised in Paulsboro and was a 1958 graduate of Paulsboro High School. After graduation he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wasp.
Upon his discharge, Mr. Gorman worked as a millwright at DuPont Chambers Works while attending school at Glassboro State for his teaching degree. He then taught at Washington Township where he was assistant football coach and head wrestling coach for many years. After that, he was also assistant football coach at Clearview High School. Mr. Gorman then taught at Gloucester County Vocational School until his retirement.
He then worked as Deputy Director of Gloucester County Buildings and Grounds until starting his own construction company which supervised the additions to both South Harrison School and Clearview. Mr. Gorman was a member of the Church of the Incarnation, Mantua and the NJ Retired Educator’s Association. He enjoyed coaching and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Dorothy Gorman (nee Diehl) of Mickleton; his children, Grace and Mike Emma of Mantua, Jim and Jackie Gorman of Mantua, Patrick and Karen Gorman of New York, New York, April and Bob Sanford of Boothwyn, PA; his grandchildren, Michael, Jay, Casey, Sean, Jessica, Devon, Audrey, Ciara, Eva, Cole and Declan; his sisters, Mary Sepielli of Paulsboro, Elizabeth and Joe Zeilmann of Paulsboro, Kathleen and John Rogers of Coatesville, PA, Maureen and Jerry Dobosz of Mickleton, Patricia and Leo Gattuso of Woolwich Twp.; many nieces, nephews, family in Ireland and a large group of friends.

WASILUK — Rose Marie Winter Wasiluk, 84, passed peacefully Monday, April 10 in Flagler Pines in Flagler County, Florida. She was born in her parent’s home in Paulsboro, NJ, to William & Mary Magdin on January 22, 1933. She married Carl Raymond Winter and moved to Warrington Mill Road in Swedesboro where they raised their children until her husband passed in 1971. In 1982 Rose married Walter Wasiluk and resided in National Park (on the creek) where they both were active members of the National Park Boat Club & the Amy Navy Union Garrison No. 52.
Rose is survived by her three children: Carl Winter (Betty) of Williamstown, NJ, Fred Winter (Debra) of Palm Coast, FL and Sharon Harrold (Andy Kawczynski) of Toms River, NJ; three grandchildren: Michele Hoffman (Randy) of Palm Coast, FL, Jamie Winter (Robert Mucha) of Jacksonville, FL & Carl Winter, Jr of Williamstown, NJ, plus eight great-grandchildren in Florida, NJ and Oklahoma as well as many nieces & nephews. Rose is predeceased by two brothers and and a sister, John Magdin, Bill Magdin and Betty Johnson Bates and an infant son, David. Rose loved cooking, laughing, dancing, meeting new people and enjoying all that life offered!

TOLEDO — Richard Toledo, 81, formerly of Mullica Hill, passed away on April 10 in Anderson, SC. Richard is survived by loving wife of 61 years, Gloria Toledo (Watson). He leaves behind three sons, Rick Toledo of Virginia, Mark Toledo of Lakeland, FL, and Greg Toledo of Hope Hull, AL; daughter, Toni Toledo of Anderson, SC; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bill Rock, and brother and sister-in-law, William and Claire Toledo. He was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born in Upper Pittsgrove, NJ, he was the son of William and Freda Toledo. He retired from DuPont after many years of service and enjoyed the retired life every single day.

LANGANELLA — Lois Ann Laganella, 71. She ran a tight ship for Dr. Dalsey for many years: seems Lois always had the answers. But, that’s probably because she was never a problem oriented person; solutions were her thing. And, regardless of how sick a patient might be, Lois’ smile would make them feel a little bit better. Her home was no different. Lois kept an open door policy: drop-ins always welcomed. Lolo could feed an army; no friend of Dave or Ken ever went hungry. Though their pride may have been somewhat damaged from Lois putting a beating on them in Pinochle. She became a member of the school board at the time the new grammar school was built and gave many ideas and time to that project: Logan Township recognized her service with a proclamation. She was a mainstay at Bethesda UM Church where she and Ray were songbirds in the choir.
Besides an education at South Philly High, she’d also meet a guy named Ray. Five years out of high school they’d marry and travel across the Cmdr. Barry to an unknown place called Logan Twp. Their 55 year union was blessed by sons David (Lisa) and Kenneth (Kim Potorti) and the joy of three grandchildren.

MUSUMECI — Giuseppina Musumeci, 53, affectionately called “Pina” of Woolwich Twp., passed away April 12. Born in Bellizzi, Providence of Salerno, Italy, she came to the US in 1980.
She was employed as a beautician at Hair’em Styling Salon, Carneys Point for 27 years. A member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, she loved cooking, taking care of her family, especially Sunday Family Dinners and her Christmas Eve Family celebrations. She enjoyed shopping, walking around the malls and was an avid sports fan, the Eagles, Soccer, Baseball and Hockey and a fan of FOX News kept her attention.
Pina had a generous heart, outgoing and offered her opinion frequently. Her care, advice and opinions to her son, made him the man he is today.
Pina is survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul, a son, Nicholas, her siblings, Maria Linda Apicella, Iolanda Butto, Concetta Goodz and Gerardo Giannattasio, her mother-in-law, Anne Musumeci. She was predeceased by her brother, Nunzio Giannattasio and her father-in-law, Joseph Musumeci.

LARDNER — Janet L. Ladner (nee DuBois) age 76 years of Bridgeport died Friday, April 14 in her home. Mrs. Ladner was born in Camden and lived all of her life in Bridgeport.
She retired as traffic coordinator after 25 years of service with Baxter Healthcare in Logan Township. Mrs. Ladner was lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Bridgeport and also worked at Bridgeport Speedway for over 40 years. She was a member of the Paulsboro High School Golden Anniversary Reunion Committee; Logan Township and Greenwich Township Senior Citizens Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Company. Mrs. Ladner was an avid racing fan, enjoyed trips to Florida and the movies, spending time in Cape May and visiting with friends and watching her grandsons play baseball.
She is survived by her children, Brian and Lori Zane of Bridgeport, Christylee Coco of Wilmington, Delaware; her step children, Jennifer Ladner of Long Beach, Delaware, Harry Jr. and Emily Ladner of South Dakota; her grandsons, Brett and Brian; her step grandchildren, Rachel, Harry III, Emily, Jonathan, Lucy, Izabella and Hayden and her prior husband, Donald Zane. Mrs. Ladner was predeceased by her husband Harry Ladner Sr.

CHAMBERS — Gladys V. Chambers (nee Miller), age 82 years, of Clarksboro died Wednesday, April 19 in Inspira Hospital, Woodbury.
Mrs. Chambers was born at home in Clarksboro and was a 1953 graduate of Swedesboro High School. She retired after 18 years of service in the assembly department with 3M Company in Thorofare. Mrs. Chambers enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, trips to the casinos and traveling to Florida with her late husband, Raymond Chambers.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Nicholas Chambers and his partner, Shirley Zane, and Brenda Chambers, both of Clarksboro; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her brothers, Chris and Wallace Miller, both of Clarksboro, and her sister, Jean Miller of Clarksboro. Mrs. Chambers was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Magazu, her brother, Norman Miller and her sisters, Bessie Nunes, Rae Chambers and Viola Wentz.

VELYKIS — Norman Velykis Gibbstown, died on April 22 of Gibbstown, age 85 years.
Beloved husband of Margaret “Margie” (nee Dellaratta). Devoted father of Ted Velykis (Anita Santiago). Dear brother of Nunie Malta and the late Bill Velykis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mr. Velykis was a graduate of Paulsboro High School Class of 1950. He went on to serve as a tailgunner in the U.S. Air Force during Korea. Upon returning from military service, Norman earned degrees from Temple and Rowan Universities. Mr. Velykis enjoyed a lengthy career as an educator and retired from Kingsway Regional High School as Principal.
