SWEDESBORO — Kings Highway will be alive with Christmas cheer as Swedesboro celebrates the start of the holiday season with its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. In the case of heavy rain, it will be postponed until Dec. 2.
The parade will take place on Kings Highway, beginning at Walter Hill School and will continue all the way through the downtown where it will end at Church Street.
The Greater Swedesboro Business Association sponsored parade will feature a variety of floats, music, and of course, an appearance by Santa Claus.
“We had a great response from various organizations and the business community last year with a lot of nice floats, including a few brand new Swedesboro and Woolwich businesses. We look forward to another fun and successful event this year.
We want to encourage community members to participate and come out to enjoy the festivities. This is a great opportunity for children and families to enjoy our community and a great way to spend family time,” said parade chairperson, Deb Baionno of the Greater Swedesboro Business Association.
Groups wishing to participate must register no later than Nov. 18 by contacting Deb Baionno at 856-491-3254 or the form can be downloaded at www.greatersba.org.
Immediately following the parade, Santa will be visiting with children in the Woolwich Fire House until 4 p.m. The day’s events will wrap up at 6:30 p.m. with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and caroling at Borough Hall.
