SWEDESBORO — With the holiday season right around the corner, Audrey Pachuta felt that it’s a great time of year to assess the many ways you can help others that may not be as lucky as you are.
She is doing this through arts and crafts. With help from friends and peers, she has collected nearly 2,000 holiday cards for kids in the Alfred I. duPont Children’s hospital over the course of the past two years.
It has recently occurred to Pachuta that with over 50 hospitals in the Philadelphia area, donating to only one of them is clearly not enough. With help from YOU, she can bring a lot more smiles to many more unfortunate kids spending what should be the most wonderful time of the year in the hospital.
To participate, all you have to do is design and create a card that you feel would bring joy to a hospitalized child during the holiday season. Some suggestions to include in your card would be activities (wordsearches, crosswords, etc.) and short notes.
A card collection box has been placed in Botto’s Italian Line Market. This project will also be done throughout some of your children’s classrooms at Kingsway Regional Middle School or Swedesboro Woolwich School District.
Cards will be collected until Dec. 15.
