BOLCAR — Gloria (Piperata) Bolcar, 84, of Mickleton and formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away after spending time with her family on Dec. 22, 2017. Gloria was born on Aug. 11, 1933 in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Frank Piperata and Theresa Vaccaro Piperata. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Bolcar, who passed away in 1989.
Gloria worked professionally early and later in her life but her proudest job was being a full-time mom to her two children. Her children are very grateful. She loved being with family and friends, playing games especially Rummy with her children and grandchildren, watching sports especially the NY Giants, and cooking for all. If you ever visited her home in Lopatcong, you never left hungry or without a good story.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Lori Anderson and her husband, Anthony of Mickleton, with whom she resided, and son, Stephen Bolcar and his wife, Jennifer of Weehawken, NJ; her grandchildren, Marissa and Sean Anderson and Anna and Emily Bolcar; her sister, Rosemary Homa of Phillipsburg, NJ, and her brother-in-law, Rev. Andrew Bolcar of Cherry, NJ. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Gloria was predeceased by her sisters, Frances Summers and Elizabeth Wilkins and brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Dante Piperata.

HYNDS — Margaret E. Hynds (nee Edge), age 96, died on Dec. 10, 2017 at her home in Virginia Beach. Raised in Moorestown, NJ, Margaret lived in Clarksboro since 1969 before moving to Virginia Beach. She and her late husband were co-owners of GBH Fabricating in Swedesboro. She was also a member of the Retreads.
Predeceased by her husband George and daughter Debra Lee Maier, she is survived by her children, James (Joan) Evans, Shirley Green, sisters Olive Weiss, Alice Dimmick, eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

NASTASI — Joan Nastasi, 81, a 59-year resident of Pompano Beach, passed away on Dec. 23, 2017. She was born in Mullica Hill to John and Amanda Nastasi on May 26, 1936. She was a teacher for over 50 years in Pompano Beach.

BARTON — Eleanor Botto Azzari Barton, 87, of Elmer, formerly of Swedesboro. Morning began with a cup of coffee and crossword puzzle from the daily paper. Eleanor kept her mind sharp. She came from a large family and was the eighth child and the youngest daughter.
It was at the Almonesson Ballroom that the young Eleanor would meet the dashing Alessio Azzari. She knew he was the one. They married soon after. From time to time, first impressions can be very wrong: her family initially disapproved of Alesssio but he wound up being her mother’s favorite. They’d work together to build a great company; Alessio doing the construction, Eleanor doing the books and decorating model houses. And she had the added benefit of working from home.
They raised five children: the glue that kept them together was family meals which didn’t start until dad came home. The couple also shared a love of culture: they not only enjoyed the opera from their box seats, but were also members of the board. Eleanor loved the social aspects of the opera and ran their biggest fund raisers from their home.
When Alessio died, Eleanor, who was a realtor, sold the rest of the development. When their youngest graduated from high school she headed off to new pastures and bought Eleanor’s Market Basket in Elmer.
She was a widow for 14 years when the late Harvey Barton entered her life. They both had raised their families and were free to enjoy all that life has to offer. Travel was their thing: Italy, Ireland and a slew of other destinations.
Eleanor was the biggest cheerleader for her children: Alex, Adrienne Musumeci (Anthony), Arlene Kobe (Steve), Arthur (Beth), Albert (Gina); her 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and is survived by a sister, Betty Spera.

DONCSECZ — Kristina Doncsecz (nee Kozo), 88, of Mullica Hill, formerly of Edison, passed away on Dec. 27, 2017.
Beloved wife of the late Frank Doncsecz, she is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Mike) Tomico, sisters, Mary Danchet, Theresa Kovacs and Madgus Dult, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Frank.

HARDY — Zechariah Hardy, 19. Full of joy and focused on loving his neighbor. Zech lived his faith, but he wasn’t a sanctimonious guy. He was an unusual find in this day and age: never an unkind word, and not an enemy to be found. His mind was a steel trap: Zech knew every state, every country and all their capitols. Academically he was a few years ahead, attaining an associates degree around the time most of us would be finishing high school. Not just a reader; a reader who remembered. Like most of us in the area he loved the Eagles and Phils. And he loved his time on the links, blessed to get a job at Scotland Run.
Zech is survived by his parents, Timothy and Tracy; his siblings, Samuel and Rebekah; he was the grandson of Ralph and Dolores Lerro and Bob and the late Peg Hardy.

MOSSBRUCKER — Jeffrey A. Mossbrucker, age 58 years, of Clarksboro died Jan. 1, 2018 in Inspira Hospital, Woodbury.
Mr. Mossbrucker was born in Philadelphia, raised in Clarksboro and graduated from Pitman High School Class of 1978. Afterward he attended the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was their No. 1 heavyweight boxer, graduating in 1982. He then served with the United States Marine Corps until 1992.
Mr. Mossbrucker worked as a machine operator for Direct Route in Logan Township. He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Clarksboro; serving on their board of trustees and also was a member of the Colonel Louis R. Francine Sons of Union Veterans, Camp No. 7, Hammonton. Mr. Mossbrucker enjoyed playing the piano, coin collecting and sports.
He is survived by his children, Vanessa and Dan Mossbrucker of Mullica Hill; his mother, Janet Mossbrucker of Mullica Hill; his brother, Fred and Penny Mossbrucker of Turnersville and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mossbrucker was predeceased by his wives, Lisa Mossbrucker and Emmalorraine Mossbrucker; his father, Charles Mossbrucker and his brother, Carl Mossbrucker.

CAMP — Edwin H. Camp Jr., age 85, years of Clarksboro died Jan. 2, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Camp was born in Jefferson and was a graduate of Swedesboro High School. He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Camp retired with over 40 years of service as an electrician with the N.J. Department of Transportation, Cherry Hill.
He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Clarksboro serving as a trustee and faithfully opened the church on Sunday for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Anthony T. Calista V.F.W. Post No. 5579, Gibbstown. Mr. Camp was proud that he built his home, enjoyed woodworking and caring for his house and yard.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Doris M. Camp (nee Windle) of Clarksboro; his children, David and Kathy Camp of Melbourne, Australia, Karen Camp of Clarksboro; his grandchildren, Ella and Nathan Camp; his sister, Elaine Larrimore of Gibbstown and his nephew, Mike Larrimore of Cape May. Mr. Camp was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Bubier.

DeSTAFNEY — Ron DeStafney, 63, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away on Jan. 3, 2018.
Mr. DeStafney moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 1974 coming from New Jersey.

ZEIGENFULL — Karl J. Ziegenfuss age 63, of Mullica Hill passed away on Jan. 3, 2018. Born in Ridley Park, PA to the late Joseph Ziegenfuss and Ruth (nee Weber), he worked for Verizon for 40 years and retired as a Systems Engineer in Philadelphia. Karl was also a member of the Norwood Fire Company for 19 years.
Karl is survived by his wife Kathleen (nee Grimes), two daughters, Amanda Ziegenfuss and Sarah Ziegenfuss and her husband Max Gambill, his mother-in-law Hilda Grimes, and granddogs, Lotus and Pyramid. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who would do anything for anyone. His daughters called him Superman. He was truly the rock of his family.

Born in Mount Royal, Robert retired from Monsanto Corp. He served in the U.S. Navy, and loved to hunt and fish, shoot horseshoes, and garden.

BELL — Peggy Jane Bell passed away on Jan. 6, 2018. Age 68. Mother of Michelle (Mike) Contarino of Wenonah, Michael (Tracy) Dinovi of Oak Valley, Mark (Jessica) Dinovi of Gibbstown, and Matthew Dinovi of Keyser, WV. Grandmother of Jeremiah Dinovi, Christina Dinovi, Matthew Contarino, Brett Contarino, Benjamin Contarino, Zachary Dinovi, Brandon Dinovi, and Brayden Dinovi. Sister of William (Karen) Bell of Pittsgrove. Daughter of the late Chester Arthur and Lillian Verna (nee Kinneman) Bell.
Born in Woodbury and raised in Glassboro and Williamstown, Peggy was a longtime resident of Franklinville where she raised her family before moving to Keyser, WV and most recently Mullica Hill. She was a 1968 graduate of Glassboro High School and later went back to school to earn an associate’s degree from Camden County College in 1991.
Peggy worked as a Dietary Technician for five years at the Romney Hospital in WV and later for 10 years with Sodexo Food Service for the Camden County Health Services Center at Lakeland before her retirement in 2010. She was faithful and devoted member of the church teaching Sunday School for many years and active with the Chit-Chat Group.
During her high school years, Peggy played the clarinet and was a member of the Marching Band as well as participating with the schools theatrical productions. She coached youth soccer in Franklin Township and was a second mom to many of the kids in the neighborhood. Peggy was a good bowler in her younger years and enjoyed yoga more recently. She loved the mountains in West Virginia and the trips to Ocean City with family.
Peggy liked her bus trips with the senior citizens, nights at the Broadway Theatre in Pitman, and lunches with aunts and cousins. She loved spending time with family and cherished the movie nights and doing crafts with the grandchildren. Her family remembers her as a woman with a great sense of humor and love for her parents.

GLASS — Mrs. Alice Leitner Glass (nee Encinosa) of Mickleton, passed away on Jan. 6, 2018, at the age of 89. Alice was born to parents Frank and Bertha Encinosa on November 23, 1928. She grew up as the eldest of three and attended Julia Richman High School in New York City. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Hunter College, also in New York City.
She married Irwin (Lee) Leitner in 1952, and the couple had four children. Alice taught girls physical education in the New Jersey public schools. After moving to Atlanta, GA, she worked as a commercial real estate broker, casualty and property adjuster, and a credit investigator for Equifax. She loved to play tennis, volleyball and racquetball and frequently played on teams. She was widowed in 1996. In 2002 she met John Glass through an online chat room for retired engineers. The couple was happily married until his passing in 2011. After moving to Mickleton, NJ, she volunteered as an ESL and literacy tutor in the Gloucester County libraries.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Moser and Jeanne Vogt; her sons, Stephen Leitner and Jesse Leitner; eleven grandchildren, Isabel, Axel, Anneke, Clayton, Alexander, Andrew, Lauren, Ethan, Sean, Brooks and Ashley. PENNELL — Charles William Pennell, 74, of Mullica Hill passed away on Jan. 7, 2018. Charles was one of four sons of the late Howard and Kathryn (Miller) Pennell.
An avid hunter and farmer, Charles simply loved being outdoors. Charlie loved being “PopPop” to his three grandchildren, and spending every free moment he had in the garden and riding his tractors with them. Charlie was a very generous man and was willing to help anyone, he could fix anything and everything; he was always found tinkering in his beloved “shop”. When Charlie was not in the shop he was in the woods hunting near and far from home. One of his favorite things to do was to gather every morning with the guys in his garage to have coffee.
He is survived by his daughter, Marie Nemes and her husband Matthew, and son William Pennell, three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Nemes, Logan Pennell and Trevor Pennell, siblings, Howard Pennell (Molly), Jack Pennell (Helga) and David Pennell (Nancy), as well as many nieces and nephews.

HOMAN — Mary Ann Getsinger Homan, 89, of Swedesboro, just 4 days short of her 90th birthday, passed away on Jan. 10, 2018. Mary Ann was born and raised in Wildwood, NJ, where she still loved spending her summers playing hostess to her many faithful guests in her childhood home. Mary Ann studied music education at Susquehanna University. Graduating in 1949, she found her first job at Swedesboro High School as the new music teacher. She organized the band and fundraised for band uniforms.
A year later, friends introduced her to a handsome local, Mike. They soon started dating and were married in June 1951. She left teaching there to start her family but she returned to teaching music a few years later, at first part time, but later full time when the school added a band in East Greenwich, where she taught until 1989.
Mary Ann was very active in local and church organizations. She was a founding member of the Shade Tree Commission in 1960, head of it until recently. She founded the Bell Choir at Bethesda United Methodist Church in the early 1980’s and was still leading it when she passed. She was also active at Gloucester County College and Underwood Memorial Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles (Mike), her daughters, Ann Kaplan (Rich), Susan Homan (William) and Charla Lewis (Bill). Grandchildren Chelsea and Shannon Lewis and Ben and Norm Kaplan and her brother, James Getsinger, three nieces, Joy Jansson, Gail Branc and Lynn Hathaway.

HARBAUGH — George Harbaugh, 70. He was full of joy. And if you were lucky enough to be around George, you would be too. Even calling him at 6 a.m., you’d hear his familiar, “Hey, How ya doin”; his smile beaming through the phone. His secret may have been that he didn’t sweat the small stuff; and George knew that, in reality, it was all small stuff. He never stopped following his dreams, starting a business well into his fifties. Of course, it may have been to entertain his lifelong fascination with the building process. But his biggest accomplishment may have been to inspire others. He motivated and encouraged to his boys to conquer their dreams. : “Keep your head up, stay positive and look on the bright side.” Cancer may have tried to dampen his spirits, but George never let it get him down; no one ever heard him complain.
A young George would meet a pretty girl named Barbara at a hamburger joint in Springfield. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Stephen (Gina) and Geoff (Marie) and grandchildren, Angelina, Zachary, Zoey and Grace Anne. He is survived by his brother, Russell Harbaugh (Mabel).

ROCHE — Emma M. Roche (nee DiDonato), 86, of Mullica Hill, went home peacefully to her heavenly Father on Jan. 11, 2018, surrounded by her loving husband, children and grandchildren. Emma was born on March 3, 1931, the youngest daughter of Berardina and Antonio DiDonato. She grew up on “the farm” in Paulsboro where she later met and married her high school sweetheart, Daniel “Mutt” Roche.
Dan and Emma married on January 7, 1950; Emma passed having just celebrated the 68th anniversary of their love affair. Her faith was the center of her heart and home and in her last days she found peace in knowing that the Blessed Mother would come to her. Because she was tender-hearted and loved so fully, and love believes and hopes all things, she had many heart breaks in her many days.
She was preceded in death by her own eldest son, Stephen, and two of her daughters, Jeanne and Maureen. Emma was also preceded in death by her seven siblings: Daniel, Peter, Mary, Paul, Thomas, Teresa and Mario. She is survived by her other six children, Diane, Duane and wife Sheryl, Teresa and husband Ted Quirk, Mary, Danny and wife Patti, and Kristin and husband Ed Dirago, as well as 25 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. Her many surviving nieces and nephews, many of whom grew up with her and who have always loved her dearly, will feel the loss of this special friend.
