PEOPLE IN TRANSITION: FEBRUARY WORKSHOPS

DEPTFORD TWP. — The Center for People in Transition at Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) hosts a number of empowerment, health and financial workshops during the month of February.

“iPhone/iPad 101” — In this workshop Justin Weaver, IT Support Technician, will help you explore some of the inner workings of iPhones and iPads. Topics will include: downloading apps, using email, social media, phone security, Wi-Fi and much more. He will take you step-by-step through the features of your Apple device so that you can better understand its many functions. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey and will be held on Monday, Feb. 12 from 6 – 9 p.m.

“Android 101” — Join Lauri Kuder, Microsoft Office Master, to explore some of the inner workings of your Android smartphone. Topics will include: downloading apps, email, social media, phone security, Wi-Fi and much more. She will take you step-by-step through the features of your Android device so that you can better understand its many functions. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey and will be held on Monday, Feb. 19, from 6 – 9 p.m.

“Get the Job, Keep the Job” — Kristen Wilson, Social Service and Career Administrator, knows that landing a new job is fantastic, but understanding how to keep that job is the key to success. In part one of her interactive workshop mini-series, you will learn how to create the perfect resume that highlights your strengths and expertise. Discussion will also include cover letter and thank you letter etiquette, interview tips and job search strategies. Bring your resume if you have one, or email Kristen at kwilso22@rcgc.edu for a form to supply your employment details by February 19 and she will help you to create a resume. In part two of the workshop mini-series, discussion will revolve around appropriate workplace behavior, including: proper attire, work ethic, timeliness, time management and how to be a team player. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey and will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21 AND 28, from 6 – 9 p.m.

“How to Create the Most Important Relationship in Your Life: the Relationship with Self” Join Sharon Roth-Lichtenfeld, Certified Professional Life Coach, to discover how liking yourself can be the key to having healthy relationships with others. Learn how to strengthen your relationship with yourself to gain more inner happiness and cultivate stronger relationships. This workshop is sponsored by United Way of Gloucester County and will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 7 – 9 p.m.

You must be 18 years or older to attend. Rowan College at Gloucester County’s 250-acre campus is located on Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 off of Route 55.
