Jan. 12 – March 22
Jan. 12: Police responded to Sam’s Club, 200 Birch Creek Rd. for a report of burglary and theft. The investigation revealed that over two nights, unknown actors broke into trailers on the property and stole various products including TV’s, home surveillance systems and various other
household electronics, with an estimated value in excess of $8,300. Surveillance footage has been reviewed and the investigation is ongoing.
Jan. 15: While on a motor vehicle stop for speeding, officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and during that search, a vile containing suspected marijuana was located in the vehicle. The driver, a 27 year old Philadelphia woman, was arrested and transported back to headquarters. There she was fingerprinted and photographed. She was then served summonses for Speeding, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt and Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
Jan. 17: Police were dispatched to UPS, 200 Birch Creek Rd. for a panic alarm. Upon arrival it was discovered that a 23 year old Penns Grove woman had been terminated for poor work performance and became irate, refusing to leave the facility. Police were able to deescalate the situation and the woman was escorted off the property without further incident.
Jan. 20: Police located a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Township Line Road Park after the park was closed for the evening. There were two males in the vehicle who appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance. A subsequent probable cause search turned up drug paraphernalia and a clear liquid suspected to be GHB. A 25 year old Logan Township man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a 27 year old Turnersville man was charged with Possession of GHB. Both men were processed and released pending court action.
Jan. 24: Incident to a motor vehicle stop for an equipment violation, the officer observed marijuana residue throughout the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search revealed that the passenger, a 19 year old Woodstown man, was in possession of several vials of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. He was then charged with Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
Jan. 25: Upon conducting a registration inquiry on a vehicle, it was learned that the driver’s license of the registered owner was suspended. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and upon approaching the vehicle, the officer immediately detected the odor of marijuana and a probable cause search was conducted. During that search, the rear seat passenger, a 22 year old Penns Grove man, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. He was then charged with Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
Jan. 26: Police were dispatched to Taylor Farms, 406 Heron Dr. for a report of several vehicles being burglarized and items taken from within. The subsequent investigation revealed that a 23 year old from Chester, PA, Hassan Miller, had entered at least three separate vehicles in the parking lot and had taken cash, lottery tickets and various other items from within those vehicles. He was ultimately arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to headquarters where he was processed, served and released pending a date in Gloucester County Superior Court.
Jan 27: Officers responded to a report of a chimney fire on Abbey Lane and ensured the home was evacuated. Firefighters from several jurisdictions responded and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries reported and the damage was contained primarily to the chimney area.
Jan. 28: A 32 year old Logan Township man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after he was captured on video surveillance throwing food at a vehicle on Robins Run West. He was processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
Jan. 29: An employee of a trucking company contracted by Amazon Fulfillment, 2277 Center Square Rd., reported that his unlocked vehicle was entered while he was working and $5,000 cash as well as two watches with a total value of $800 were taken from inside the car. A review of video surveillance was unable to identify the suspect.
Jan. 30: A Stirrup Rd. resident reported that an unknown actor burglarized his residence while he was at home. The suspect, a black male who was estimated to be between 25-35 years of age, knocked on the victim’s door several times before kicking the door causing the door jamb to crack and allowing the door to open. At that time the victim yelled to the intruder, who then left the residence and fled in a dark gray Honda. No other suspect identification was available.
Jan. 31: A vehicle which had been previously reported stolen in Warrington, PA was located on Mulberry Ln. The 2016 Toyota was towed from the location and secured for Warrington Police to process it for evidence.
Feb. 1: Police were dispatched to the construction site on Route 130 at the Raccoon Creek Bridge for a report of theft. It was learned through the investigation that on 1/20/18, an unknown suspect(s) entered onto the site and stole a Lincoln Electric 300 Amp tow-behind welder. A GPS unit attached to the welder revealed that it was transported to Wilmington, DE but the signal was lost that same day. The welder was entered NCIC.
Feb. 2: While investigating an attempted shoplifting from Wawa, officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle that the female suspects had fled the scene in. The two female suspects informed police that they did not have ID cards in their possession and provided names and dates of birth for officers to use to verify their identity. Upon reviewing the digital driver’s license image to verify that the women had supplied false information as to their identity. The driver was ultimately identified as a 41 year old Philadelphia resident and the passenger was a 21 year old woman, also from Philadelphia. Both were arrested on Hindering Apprehension charges and transported to headquarters. There, they were processed and served their summonses. The 21 year old was released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court. The 41 year old was found to have additional warrants and was subsequently turned over to Evesham Police in default of $750.00 bail.
Feb. 4: While on a motor vehicle stop for speeding, it was discovered that the driver, a 23 year old Woolwich Township woman, was a Fugitive from Justice out of Cecil County, MD. She was taken into custody, and transported to headquarters where she was processed and remanded to the custody of the Salem County Jail to await extradition to Maryland.
Feb. 5: A Shady Brook Lane resident reported that an unknown actor had attempted to gain entry to a rear door sometime between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Due to a secondary security device, no access was gained but the exterior handle had been broken in the attempt. The damage was estimated to be $100.
Feb. 7: An Edward Dr. resident reported that sometime between 8 and 10:45 a.m., an unknown individual entered the home and stole approximately $8 from within. There was no evidence located with which to identify a suspect or suspects.
Feb. 10: While on a motor vehicle stop for a vehicle that was failing to maintain its lane, police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search revealed three vials of suspected cannabis oil in a backpack belonging to a rear seat passenger. The 19 year old Dover, DE man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was processed, charged with Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana and released on a summons pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
Feb. 10: Acting on a report of suspicious activity at a construction site on Route 130, police located a truck in the area. Upon making contact with the driver, a 34 year old Brookhaven, PA man, he alleged that he was having mechanical problems with his vehicle. Further investigation revealed evidence that he had exited his vehicle and was attempting to remove a commercial grade tamper from the construction site. He was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. After being fingerprinted and photographed, the suspect was charged with two counts of Trespassing and Criminal Attempt – Theft. He was released pending Superior Court action.
Feb. 15: During the overnight hours, police received numerous reports of vehicle burglaries in the area of Elmwood Place, Peachwood Dr. and Hancock St. Loose change, a pair of Oakley sunglasses, and a Samsung Galaxy were among the items taken from numerous unlocked vehicles. Surveillance video has been obtained and the investigation into the thefts is ongoing.
Feb. 17: Officers responded to the area of New Castle Lane for a report of suspicious activity, specifically that the occupants were smoking marijuana inside a vehicle. Upon locating the vehicle, officers made contact with the occupants and immediately smelled the odor of marijuana within. The ensuing investigation revealed that the driver, a 19 year old Logan Township man, was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the form of a glass smoking pipe. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters. There, he was processed and charged with Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphenalia. He was then released on a summons pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
Feb. 18: Police responded to a construction site on Route 130 for a complaint of burglary to the office trailer. Further investigation revealed that tools and batteries were taken from the trailer and on site storage containers and a Ford F-150 was stolen from the site as well. Video surveillance was retrieved and the investigation is ongoing.
Feb 24: Logan Township Police K-9 Sergeant Haas and his K-9 partner Hunter were requested to assist with a motor vehicle stop in neighboring Woolwich Township. The stopping officer had reasonable suspicion to believe there was contraband in the vehicle. K-9 Hunter did provide a positive indication to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle and a subsequent probable cause search revealed a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly in Woolwich Township.
Feb 25: While on a motor vehicle stop for a maintenance of lamps violation, police detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted which revealed two hand-rolled cigarettes containing suspected marijuana inside a plastic container. The driver, a 20 year old Upper Darby man, was arrested and transported to headquarters. There, he was fingerprinted and photographed. He was served a summons charging him with Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Surrender CDS to Police and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
Feb 27: Police were dispatched to Amazon Fulfillment, 2277 Center Square Rd., for a report of an intoxicated employee refusing to leave. The ensuing investigation revealed that the employee in question, a 38 year old Pennsville man, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at work. Management began watching him and determined he was unfit to be working. As they prepared to remove him from the facility, without being provoked, he assaulted a female manager. After speaking to the victim and reviewing the surveillance footage of the incident, the suspect was arrested and transported to headquarters. There he was charged with assault, processed and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
March 1: Police stopped a 35 year old Upper Chichester, PA man for a headlight violation. While speaking with the driver, police detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle and a K-9 sniff by the LTPD K-9 unit provided a positive indication of narcotics in the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted which revealed a quantity of suspected marijuana, two smoking pipes (bowls), three suspected Amphetamine pills and suspected Cannabis oil. The driver was arrested and transported to headquarters. There he was fingerprinted, photographed and served with a summons charging him with Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and two counts of Possession of Certain Prescription Legend Drugs. He was released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
March 2: Officers were dispatched to a Lakeside Drive residence for a noise complaint, which has been an ongoing issue. The two residents there were each subsequently charged with municipal ordinance violations for Maintaining a Nuisance and Noise Violations.
March 3: Officers responded to the area of Persimmon Place for a report of vehicles stuck in an adjacent field. The ensuing investigation revealed that one vehicle had intentionally driven into the field and got stuck. The other two reportedly responded in an attempt to assist the driver of the first vehicle but ended up becoming stuck as well. A tow truck was dispatched and removed the vehicles from the field. In that process there was damage done to a neighbor’s lawn and Beckett Association property. Another resident in the area also reported that her fence was damaged, apparently as a result of the drivers using it to attempt to free their vehicles. An 18 year Logan Township man was charged with served with three counts of Criminal Mischief as well as Operating a Vehicle Causing Damage to Agricultural Property and Abandoning a Motor Vehicle on Private Property. An 18 year old Woolwich Township man and a juvenile from Woolwich were each charged with Operating a Vehicle Causing Damage to Agricultural Property and Abandoning a Motor Vehicle on Private Property. All three have dates pending in Logan Township Municipal Court.
March 5: Police were dispatched to the area of Edward Drive near Township Line Road for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival it was determined that two males from Camden County responded to that location in an attempt to purchase an iPhone X which was featured for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Upon their arrival, they were approached by one Hispanic male and one black male. The black male produced a black handgun and stated his intent to rob the victims. A physical struggle ensued during which the victims were assaulted and robbed of $600 cash (the agreed to transaction amount) and an iPhone 5. The suspects then fled into the Greenfields housing development. A track of the victim’s phone was lost in the area of Edward Drive and Merle Lane.
The ensuing investigation identified the Facebook profile of a 19 year old Logan Township woman as the seller of the iPhone X. Further investigation also identified a juvenile male from Vineland as one of the suspects in the armed robbery. The female has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. She was arrested, processed and remanded to Salem County Jail to await a detention hearing. The juvenile has been charged on Juvenile Petitions with Aggravated Assault, Theft, Robbery and Conspiracy. His whereabouts are unknown. The identity of the black male suspect is still unknown.

March 7: Police observed a vehicle parked in a handicapped parking space at Wawa, 1700 Center Square Road, with no Handicapped Parking Placard. Before the officer could make contact with the driver, the vehicle exited the lot. A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the parking lot of 525 Beckett Rd for the handicapped parking violation. While speaking with the driver, a 25 year old Wilmington, DE man, the odor of marijuana was detected in the vehicle. When asked about the presence of narcotics, the driver surrendered a hand-rolled “blunt” style cigar and a medicine vial, both containing suspected marijuana. He was also found to have outstanding warrants from Deptford and Westville Municipal Courts. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle yielded negative results for additional contraband. The driver was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was fingerprinted and photographed. He was served with a summonses for Possession of Under 50g of marijuana, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Driving While Suspended and Parking in a Handicapped Parking Space. He was released on his own recognizance on the outstanding warrants and released on the present charges with a date pending in Logan Township Municipal Court.
March 8: Incident to a motor vehicle stop for speeding, police detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search revealed that the passenger, a 36 year old Deptford man, was in possession of two glass smoking pipes commonly used to ingest narcotics. He was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was processed, served a summons charging him with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
March 8: Police located a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Wawa, with a male sleeping inside. The ensuing investigation gave rise to reasonable suspicion that there was contraband in the vehicle and a K-9 unit from Mantua Township Police responded to assist. The K-9 gave a positive indication as to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search revealed two sandwich bags, both containing suspected marijuana, a smoking pipe commonly used to ingest narcotics, a metal grinder commonly used to prepare marijuana for smoking and a digital scale. The driver, a 29 year old Pilesgrove man, was arrested and transported to headquarters. There he was processed and served summonses charging him with Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Surrender CDS to a Law Enforcement Officer, and Driving with a Suspended License. He was then released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
March 10: Incident to a motor vehicle stop for an equipment violation, police observed that the passenger, a 20 year old Salem City man, was not wearing his seatbelt and inquired as to his identity. During that interaction the passenger’s behavior changed and police conducted further inquiry which led to the man surrendering a quantity of marijuana from his person. He was ultimately arrested and transported to headquarters where he was processed and served summonses for Failure to Wear a Seatbelt and Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana. He was then released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
March 11: Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for an expired registration. While speaking to the driver, a 21 year old Woolwich Township man, the odor of marijuana was present in the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search revealed a quantity of suspected marijuana, a metal grinder and a glass pipe commonly used to ingest CDS. He was arrested and transported to headquarters. There he was processed, served several summonses charging him with Unregistered Vehicle, Uninsured Vehicle, Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was then released pending a date in Logan Township Municipal Court.
March 12: A Barker Ave. resident reported that the home he was renovating was burglarized. No evidence was found on scene and nothing was taken from within the residence.
March 13: Police were dispatched to Acme, 1619 Center Square Rd., for a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, it was learned that the suspect, a black male in his 20’s and approximately 6’ 3” tall, had filled a grocery cart with approximately $274 worth of groceries and exited the store without paying for the items. When he was confronted by management, the suspect left the cart and entered a Ford Explorer which then left the scene. Acme employees were able to get a registration from the vehicle and the resulting investigation revealed that the suspect was a 23 year old Penns Grove man. The suspect was arrested in Penns Grove on March 23 and turned over to Logan Township Police for processing. He was then served his summons and released pending a date in Gloucester County Superior Court.
March 15: Police were dispatched to Custom Building Products, 2115 High Hill Rd. for a report of a truck driver who may be under the influence of alcohol and causing a disturbance. Upon arrival officers made contact with the unruly driver who refused to comply with officer safety commands and clenching his fists in an aggressive, combative manner towards police. He was eventually arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct before being transported to Inspira Medical Center in Woodbury for evaluation.
March 16: Incident to a motor vehicle stop, the driver, a 28 year old Paulsboro man, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Harrison Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,500. He was transported to headquarters for processing and ultimately remanded to the Salem County Jail in default of bail.
March 18: NJSP requested assistance in apprehending a suspect who had fled on foot from a stolen vehicle on I-295. Upon arriving to the area of Swedesboro Rd. and Democrat Rd. in Greenwich Township, Troopers were taking the juvenile male into custody. Responding officers immediately recognized the male as the suspect in an armed robbery which had taken place on Edward Dr. on March 5. NJSP processed and charged the juvenile for the incident involving the stolen car and he was then turned over to Logan Township Police for processing on the outstanding charges for the robbery. After processing, he was remanded to the Camden County
Youth Detention Facility to await a date in Gloucester County Superior Court.
March 22: Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Lafayette Dr. for a report of an assault. Upon arrival it was learned that the victim, a 20 year old Bridgeton man, had been approached by two men, whom he knew from previous encounters, as he was clearing snow from his vehicle. The men approached the victim and assaulted him, knocking him to the ground, kicking and punching him, and stealing his cell phone in the process. He suffered lacerations to the face, head neck and leg, as well as bruised ribs. He was transported to Inspira Medical Center in Woodbury for treatment of his injuries. The ensuing investigation identified the suspects as a 19 year old Swedesboro man and a 20 year old Logan Township man. Both were later apprehended in the Village Center without incident. The Swedesboro man was charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Theft, Defiant Trespass and Terroristic Threats. The Logan Township man was charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Theft. Both men were transported to headquarters where they were processed. They were then remanded to Salem County Jail to await a Detention Hearing.
