Adults:

Paper Flower Ornaments – Celebrate Christmas in July! Make a

Paper Flower Ornament using old maps and colored paper. Wednesday, July 25, from 6:30- 8 p.m. Registration required.

Adult Book Club – The adult book club will resume in the fall. The book selections for summer reading will be posted in the library.

Adult Summer Reading – Did you know that adults can participate in our Summer Reading program?  Summer Reading began June 23 and ends Aug. 4, but you can still register. Each week, or the week you participated, fill out a slip for each book you read and give to the library staff for our weekly drawing. There will be one winner each week; win a bag of books! There will also be one grand prize winner at the end of Summer Reading who will win $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble.

Tween/Teens:

Summer Reading Program – Join us for this year’s summer reading program, “Libraries Rock!” There is still time to register. Join us for a summer filled with programs and fun activities that celebrate Libraries! Teens/tweens can participate in summer reading in two ways:  by reading books and/or attending Summer Reading programs. We partner with local businesses to reward youth for their participation. Stop in the library to register for summer reading and to pick up your reading logs. Register at www.gcls.org for all programs. Summer reading ends on Saturday, Aug. 4 – all logs must be handed in at that time. No more prizes will be given out after Aug. 4. Coupons are redeemable until Aug. 31, 2018. One coupon per teen.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us on Thursday, July 19 – 6:30 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!

Teen/Tween Talent Show – Monday, July 30 7 p.m. Do you have a hidden talent you never get to share? Call the library at 467-0111 to sign up for the talent show and let us know what talent you have. Talents could include magic, singing a song, dancing, reciting a poem or more! You choose. Invite your family and friends to watch the show! Best suited for 4th grade and up. You must be registered by staff and have your “talent” approved.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Teen Board members will learn library skills, help plan teen activities, contribute to our quarterly teen newsletter and/or work with children by becoming a Literacy Buddy. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Literacy Buddies – Looking for teens interested in becoming a Literacy Buddy.  During the school year, teens will work one-on-one with a child who needs help with reading, homework or learning English. Commitment is one hour a week.  This program will resume in the fall.  Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Children:

From Opera to Abba:  Swedish Music – Monday, July 9 – 7 p.m. Join the American Swedish Historical Museum as they bring some fun learning activities that expose and teach children about Swedish music. Children must be registered.  For ages 6-12.

The Train Wreck Band Celebrates “Libraries Rock”! – Tuesday, July 10 – 6:30 p.m. We are excited to celebrate “Libraries Rock” with Jeff Munsick and his band, Train Wreck. Come out and rock and roll to this feet-stomping band. Space is limited, so be sure to register! Adults and children of all ages will enjoy their show!

Popsicle Art – Thursday, July 12 – 7 p.m. – What can you create? The possibilities are limitless. Join us for this fun STEAM project. Space is limited, children must be registered. Best suited for ages 6-12.

The Philadelphia Zoo presents “Fur, Feathers, Scales, and Skin” – Monday, July 16 – 2 p.m. Join us for “Fur, Feathers, Scales, and Skin” – Learn all about birds, mammals, and reptiles! Children must be registered for this program. This program is best suited for 3-8 years of age.

FURever as Friends – Monday, July 16 – 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Visit with our therapy animals, read to them, share a picture book, brush them, and/or give them a treat. Some of our animals even do tricks! Registration is not required. Parents need to sign a permission slip for their child in order to participate.

Make a Clay Fish – Monday, July 23 – 7 p.m. Enjoy creating a painted clay fish platter. Participants must be registered as space is very limited. This program is for tweens and teens. Call 856-467-0111 or go to www.gcls.org to register.

Flying in Style Butterfly Craft – Tuesday, July 24 – 7 p.m. Color a fabric bag of butterflies and learn some amazing facts about the Magnificent Monarch Butterfly. Must be registered as supplies are limited. For ages 6-12.

Mullica Hill Art Center – Thursday, July 26 – 7 p.m. Paint and embellish a rock to hide, share, or keep! Space is limited so be sure to register!

Literacy Buddies – This program will resume again in October. Does your child need help with homework, reading or learning English – call us at 856-467-0111 and we will try to match your child with a Teen Volunteer. Literacy buddies will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, beginning in October, from 4 -5 p.m. Let us know which day is best for you.

Toddlers & Babies:

Tuesday Storytime – Storytime is a fun time! Hear stories, sing songs, and make a craft! We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. July storytime dates are July 10, 17, 24, & 31. Storytime is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Wednesday Storytime – Join in the fun Wednesday morning for stories, dancing and crafts. Wednesday storytime is at 10:30 a.m. Dates for July are July 11, 18, & 25 – Library meeting room. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays. Baby Time will be held on Thursday, July 19 – 10:30 a.m. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s dates are Thursdays, July 12 & 26. Registration is required as space is limited.
