An open letter to the people of the Swedesboro area:
On behalf of Mary Ann and Mike Homan’s family, we want to thank all their/our wonderful friends, students, fellow volunteers, neighbors, co-workers, relatives, businesses and institutions who contributed so much to their many happy and productive years in Swedesboro.
Mary Ann (90) passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 10 and Mike (94) passed on Feb. 7 of this year. They lived together in Swedesboro for almost 70 years and Mike for 94 years (and his ancestors settled Swedesboro in 1642).
This fine community also came together to help us truly honor our parents when they went to heaven. You made a significant impact on their lives and did so much to help us honor their gifts of service to the community.
We’d like to give an extra special thank you to the congregation of Bethesda Methodist Church, Pat and Charlie Wells, Mark Reynolds, Clarksboro Masonic Lodge #87 F. & A.M, Daley’s Life Celebration Studio, Jo Anna Gahrs and the Boro Council, Lake Park Cemetery’s Bob Gahrs, Sculptor Dan Dennison, Eagle Scout Josh Gross and Troop #13 and all the others who pitched in to give our precious parents a memorable send off. Please be sure to enjoy the newly created Homan Park on the lake at the corner of East and Park Aves.
We also thank all the generous people who made donations in the Homans’ memories to honor their legacy of charity and education. Swedesboro is still a very rare gem because of the people who live and work here and we want you to know how special you are.
The families of Ann Homan Kaplan, Susan Homan, Charla Homan Lewis
