WOOLWICH TWP. — There is no doubt Kingsway has plenty of praise-worthy news happening daily and it would seem every time we open an email or read a story online we will find a Kingsway student or group of students accomplishing another spectacular feat.
Although we can’t possibly capture everything, here are a few noteworthy events and student accomplishments we are proud to share with our school community.
Middle School Student Council Luncheon – Our middle school student council were invited to the annual luncheon with the superintendent and middle school principal to discuss a number of exciting programs and initiatives happening in the middle school this year.
Kingsway keeps pace with high school students nationally – Each year, Kingsway’s AP junior and senior students participate in “a national competition for high school students requiring close reading and analysis of many different kinds of prose and poetry.
86 Students inducted into National Honor Society – Eighty-six juniors and seniors were inducted into this year’s National Honor Society in a formal ceremony held at the High School’s Eitel Theater on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Kingsway excels at Princeton Model Congress; Allen, McNeill, Wordelmann, & Collins Win Big!
A Kingsway Delegation of 28 travelled to Washington, D.C. on Nov. 15 to compete in Princeton Model Congress 2018. Stellar debate performances were delivered by all delegates, especially Gabrielle Allen, Ethan McNeill, Morgan Wordelmann, and Joseph Collins III.
Gabrielle Allen named Miss Gloucester County Outstanding Teen – Senior Gabrielle Allen of Mickleton was named Miss Gloucester County Outstanding Teen with her platform, “Don’t Diss the Ability-Inclusion & Awareness.”
Katie Foth, Melanie & Melissa Shultz march in Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia – Katie Foth, Melanie Shultz and Melissa Shultz were recognized at our recent ACC Championships for participating in this honor ensemble. These students represented Kingsway in the annual Thanksgiving Day Philadelphia Parade.
Cross Country places 3rd in Meet of Champions; Gavin Wagner finishes one of best in State –
Kingsway’s State Champion Boys Cross Country Team placed third in the Meet of Champions recently and Gavin Wagner finished 21st best in the State.
Kingsway’s Tennis finishes 13-3; Carrocino named SJ Times girls tennis coach of the year – The Kingsway turnaround led by Coach Michele Carrocino, which began with a 10-9 record in 2017, culminated this season with a senior-laden group amassing a 13-3 record, a trip to the sectional quarterfinals, and a close second in the Tri-County Conference-Royal Division race. For putting Kingsway back on the map, Carrocino is this season’s South Jersey Times girls tennis coach of the year.
Senior All Stars Named – Hailey Ferry participated in the SJ Field Hockey All Star game recently at Rowan University. Ryan Ayars and Samantha Emmi participated in the Tri County Conference Soccer All Star game at Gateway on Nov. 19. Samantha Emmi and Alyssa Palmucci participated in the SJ Soccer Coaches Association All Star game at Rutgers Camden on Nov. 20.
