Adults:

Needle Arts: Crochet, Knit or Sew Night! – Tuesday, Feb. 5 & 196:30 p.m. Learn how to sew, knit or crochet or get help with your own project. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org.

FREE GED/HSE Preparation and Testing – Tuesdays, Feb. 5, 12, 19, & 26 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Wednesdays, Feb. 6, 13, 20, & 27 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The classes are for High School Equivalency preparation and testing. Classes will also be available at other GCLS library branch locations on different dates and times. Please check our online calendar for details.

Floral Arrangement – Wednesday, Feb. 6 – 6:30 p.m. Come make a beautiful red rose floral arrangement. Space is limited so be sure to register at www.gcls.org.

Yoga for Everyone – Fridays, Feb. 8 & 22 – 10:30 a.m. Learn basic yoga positions, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. Please bring your own mat or towel and a water to drink.Space is limited, be sure to register.  

Floating heart wall art – Wednesday, Feb. 20 – 6:30 p.m. Join us for this unique craft. Spots fill up quickly – be sure to register!

Tween/Teens:

Tween Book Club – Saturday, Feb. 9 – 11 a.m. February’s selection will be Noggin by John Whaley.  Be sure to register at www.gcls.org

Teen Writers’ Club – Monday, Feb. 11 – 7 p.m.  Do you love writing? Join us on the second Mondays of each month. This time will be devoted to writing! You can work on your own writing or pull ideas from our binder. Your writings may be published in our Teen Express Literary Magazine.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us on Thursday, Feb. 21 – 6:30-8 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time! 

Anime Club – Monday, Feb. 25 – 5 p.m. Anime meets on the fourth Mondays at 5 p.m. Feel free to come dressed in costume. You can also bring Pokemon cards or Yu Gi Oh cards to play, watch an Anime movie/show and/or draw Manga characters.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Teen Board members will learn library skills, help plan teen activities, contribute to our quarterly teen newsletter and/or work with children by becoming a Literacy Buddy. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.  

Literacy Buddies – We are looking for teens interested in becoming a Literacy Buddy. Teens can work one-on-one with a child who needs help with reading, math, homework, or learning English. Commitment is one hour a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. Call 856-467-0111 for more information or stop in and fill out a volunteer form.

Children:

FURever as Friends –   Monday, Feb. 4 & 18 6:30-8 p.m. Visit with our therapy animals, read to them, share a picture book, brush their coat, and/or give them a treat. Some of our animals even do tricks! Registration is not required. Permission slips to visit our animals are available at the front desk. All ages welcome!

Make Valentines – Thursday, Feb. 14 – 4 p.m. Create unique valentines for your friends and family. Snack will be provided. Please register at www.gcls.org. Ages 4 – 12.

Read Across America – Thursday, Feb. 28 7 p.m. Celebrate the joy of reading. Join us for some fun activities and refreshments, and, of course, the reading of some great stories! Be sure to register! Ages 4-12.

Literacy Buddies – Does your child need help with homework, reading or learning English – call us at 856-467-0111 and we will try to match your child with a Teen Volunteer.

Literacy buddies will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 4 -5 p.m.  Let us know which day is best for you.  

Toddlers & Babies:

Tuesday Storytime (Laugh n’ Learn) – Storytime is a fun time!  Listen to stories, sing songs, and make a craft! We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. February’sstorytime dates are Feb. 5, 12, 19, & 26.  Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5.  Registration is required.

Wednesday Storytime (Toddler Tales) – Join in the fun Wednesday morning for stories, dancing and crafts. Wednesday storytime is at 10:30 a.m.  Dates for February are Feb. 6, 13, 20, & 27 – Library meeting room.  Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5.  Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays.  Baby Time is held on Thursdays, Feb. 7 & 21 – 10:30 a.m. Space is limited, registration is required.  

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs.  This month’s dates are Thursday, Feb. 14 & 28.  Registration is required as space is limited.

Baby Fun Time – Saturday, Feb. 23 – 10:30 a.m. Join us once-a-month on a Saturday for Baby Fun Time.  Your child will engage in fingerplays and songs, board books, and fun activities geared for ages infant to 2-1/2 years of age.  Be sure to register at www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111.
