SWEDESBORO — The Swedesboro Economic Development will be hosting a SWEDESBORO TRIKE CHALLENGE on Swedesboro Woolwich Day, Sept. 28 from 11 to 4 p.m.
Organizers enthusiastically invite you to participate in this inaugural event that is sure to be a hit amongst teams from local companies, teams, clubs and organizations.
The Swedesboro Trike Challenge is a series of hot-footed, hot-blooded heats down Ashton Avenue on tricycles. This will be a single-elimination adult tag-team tricycle relay race, with five person relay teams.
Any business, group or organization is invited to enter as many five member teams as they wish. Due to time constraints the event is limited to 32 teams of adults over 21.
Check-in begins at 10:30. First heat begins at 11. Tricycles and helmets will be provided. You provide the riders!
Each team must have at least one member of the opposite sex. You must be 21 years or older and must wear a helmet and closed toe shoes.
All teams must pre-register on the website. All teams must show up a half hour prior to your race time to check-in area. At time of check-in, all team members must show proof of age. No refunds. All races will be allowed a 10-minute maximum race time. If a team is a no show, the other team in their heat will advance to the next bracket.
All heat times will be posted to the Swedesboro HistoricSwedesboro and the swedesboroday.com website. Please check the day prior to the race (Sept. 28) for your schedule. Registration Fee: $125 per five person team
Prizes: Three wheels, one Champion! The victorious team will receive the coveted Swedesboro Trike Challenge trophy, engraved with the team’s name and bragging rights for a year – both testaments to their hard-won victory.
Medals will also be awarded to the first, second, third place and runner-up finishers. Prizes will be awarded for the “Punniest” team name and The Best Team Costumes as teams are encouraged to dress up to represent their organization.
Organizers need your team’s participation to make this event a spectacular one starting with fun and friendly competition (and mild physical exertion!) and culminating with awards earned by the most deserving teams!
