Swedesboro Needs Your Volunteer Help!

SWEDESBORO — Downtown Swedesboro’s flowers are in full bloom and looking as lovely as ever. This is not an easy task during these dog days of summer, and that is why Swedesboro is in need of your volunteer help.

Swedesboro is looking for anyone that would be willing to work on a few of the tree beds during the year. The task would include weeding and deadheading. Cathie Goehringer has been maintaining the tree beds on Kings Highway with a little help from community groups.

The circle on Kings Highway has been maintained by Peggy Lafferty over the years. However, this year due to a knee replacement, Peggy is out of commission to weed. Fortunately, once we were made aware Lois Elder, Lynn Crawford both of Woolwich and Diane Hale, weeded the circle and are trying to maintain it to Peggy’s standards.

The Swedesboro Public Works team waters these plants everyday early in the morning to keep them nice looking. Please call Borough Hall 856-236-3404 to let them know you are interested. Tools will be supplied.

Thank you to all the helpers that keep the community beautiful.
