To The Editor:
In regards to the response letters to my original Letter to the Editor in June regarding organ donation:
My own father was a recipient of his brother’s kidney as one of the first organ transplants performed in the country at the University of PA back in 1975. I certainly am in favor of ethical organ donation.
If anyone desires to research the facts regarding brain death and organ donation, they can visit this site and watch an interview with Dr. Cicero Coimbra, MD, PhD. Neurologist exposes ‘brain death’ myth behind multi-billion-dollar organ transplant industry.
Dr. Coimbra is an Associate Professor of Neurology and holds a PhD in Philosophy. He has done extensive research on treatment of severe brain injury and is involved in studies using hypothermia and vitamin treatment for brain injury.
It’s important for the voices of those professionals that work directly with brain injured patients to be heard on the topic of brain death. We need to hear the truth from those who are willing to risk it all to expose the truth.
God bless all those suffering from organ failure. They are all in my special prayers for full healing, since this is personal to me too.
