WOODBURY — The Gloucester County Department of Health is preparing to provide county residents with no cost flu shots beginning Wednesday, Oct. 2. Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Jim Jefferson, Liaison to the Department of Health, advise residents to make sure to check their mailboxes for the full schedule of flu shots and their locations in the county’s newsletter.
Clinics are scheduled for weekends and during evening hours, with special clinics just for daycare and pre-school aged children and their families. The county even provides one drive-thru clinic for seniors and those who have a hard time standing in line.
This year’s quadrivalent seasonal flu vaccine contains the following four viruses: A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1)-pdm09-like virus; A/Singapore/INFIMH-16-0019/2016 (H3N2)-like virus; B/Colorado/06/2017-like virus (B/Victoria lineage); B/Phuket/3073/2013-like virus.
