Understanding Your Social Security Benefits – Thursday, Nov. 7 – 1:30 p.m. As you approach retirement, it is more important than ever to understand the role that Social Security benefits can and should play in your overall retirement plan. Join Simone Herndon, Social Security Administration Public Affairs Specialist for this informative seminar. Tween/Teens:

Teen/Tween Book Club – Saturday, Nov. 16 – 11 a.m. November’s selection will be Woof by Spencer Quinn. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us on Thursday, Nov. 21 – 6:30-8 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!

Anime Club – Monday, Nov. 25 – 5 p.m. Anime meets on the fourth Mondays at 5 p.m. Feel free to come dressed in costume. You can also bring Pokemon cards or Yu Gi Oh cards to play, watch an Anime movie/show and/or draw Manga characters. Register at www.gcls.org.

Literacy Buddies – We are looking for teens interested in becoming a Literacy Buddy. Teens can work one-on-one with a child who needs help with reading, math, homework, or learning English. Commitment is one hour a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. Call 856-467-0111 for more information or stop in and fill out a volunteen form.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Teen Board members will learn library skills, help plan teen activities, and/or work with children by becoming a Literacy Buddy. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.  

Children:

FURever as Friends –   Monday, Nov. 4 & 18 6:30-8 p.m. Visit with our therapy animals, read to them, share a picture book, brush their coat, and/or give them a treat. Some of our animals even do tricks. Registration is not required. Permission slips to visit our animals are available at the front desk.

Literacy Buddies – Does your child need help with homework, reading or learning English – call us at 856-467-0111 and we will try to match your child with a Teen Volunteer. Literacy buddies traditionally takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 4 – 5 p.m. Let us know which day is best for you.

Toddlers & Babies:

Tuesday Storytime (Laugh n’ Learn) – Storytime is a fun time! Listen to stories, sing songs, and make a craft! We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. November’s storytime dates are Nov. 5, 12, 19, & 26. Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5Registration is required. 

Wednesday Storytime (Toddler Tales) – Join in the fun Wednesday morning for stories, dancing and crafts. Wednesday storytime is at 10:30 a.m. Dates for November are Nov. 6, 13, & 20 – Library meeting room. Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays.  Baby Time is held on Thursdays, Nov. 7 & 21 – 10:30 a.m. Space is limited, registration is required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s date is Thursday, Nov. 14 – 10:30 a.m.  Registration is required as space is limited.

Saturday Storytime (Toddler Tales) – Saturday, Nov. 9 – 10:30 a.m. Join our once-a-month Saturday storytime. Listen to stories and do a fun craft!  Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111.

Music and Movement: Nov.7, 11 a.m. – Dance, sing, and move with your little one. Ages 0-5. Advanced registration required.

Lego Club: Nov. 4, 4 p.m. – A monthly building challenge with Legos, Straws and Connectors, and Connecting Cubes. Children may bring their own Legos. Ages 4-10.

Family Game Night: Nov. 4, 6:30 p.m. – Celebrate International Games Week with your family and friends. All ages.

Little Ones Storytime: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. Listen to stories, songs, and make a craft with your little one! Ages 2-5. Please register.

A Frozen Party!: Nov. 8, 11 a.m. – Do you want to build a snowman? Join us for a celebration of frozen fun. Make crafts, play games, and meet your favorite ice queen. Costumes encouraged and don’t forget your camera. All ages welcome.

New! Baby Storytime: Nov. 14, 10:30 a.m. – Listen to stories, songs, and color with your little one. Ages 2 and under.

Food Art: Nov. 6, 4 p.m. Make artwork out of food. We will be making edible turkeys. Ingredients may include sugar, dairy, nuts, gluten. Ages 6-8.

Saturday Storytime: Nov. 2, 10:30 a.m. – Listen to stories, songs, and make a craft with your little one. Ages 2-5. 

Kitchen Science: Nov. 18, 4 p.m. – A cooking program for growing minds. We will be making cranberry granola balls. Ingredients include: dairy, sugar, oats, craisins. Ages 6-12. Please register.

Little Learners: Nov. 20, 4 p.m. – A S.T.E.A.M. based program for little minds. We’ll be constructing the Mayflower, playing a game, and making Pilgrim hats. Ages 4-6. Please register.

New! Maker Monday: Nov. 25, 6:30 p.m. – Explore Snap Circuits, build 3-D objects, learn how to code and more! Ages 6-12. We will meet in the Young Adult area.

Crazy Cool Creations: Nov. 27, 4 p.m. – A S.T.E.A.M based program for growing minds! We’ll be designing a Thankful box. Ages 6-12.
