Generation Station Providing Caring Services During COVID

LOGAN TWP. — Generation Station LLC is a privately owned adult day center in Logan Township. At the start of this pandemic, the owners thought it best to close, but shortly thereafter the partners Sandra Scott Drew and Carla Smith McCrorey decided to rethink their process.

Knowing that for some members the meals prepared daily, on-site at the Generation Station, were their primary food source, they decided they had to try to continue to serve their clients. With the help of program partners, New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services, the Alzheimer’s Grant, New Jersey Statewide Respite Program of both Gloucester and Salem counties, as well as community partner Chef Staci Azzinaro of A Taste for All Seasons Catering, serving is exactly what they have done.

During this trying time with the help of the CARES Act, Generation Station was able to keep all of their employees working, clients and members receiving their day services with fun, games and socializing via video/conference calls with the staff. Current events and issues are discussed with Linda M Melendez, MA, LCSW via Tele-med.

Meals are delivered to member’s homes weekly consisting of a hot breakfast, and three lunch/dinner meals. Generation Station is also a Licensed Home Health Agency and supplies home care for those who are home bound or need companionship.

The Generation Station looks forward to reopening with full services including Social Adult Day Services, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, and other services on June 15.  All precautions with PPE and social distancing will be observed.  Weekend hours will resume after Labor Day.
