SWEETEN — Marilyn K. Sweeten, age 74, of Clarksboro was carried by the angels into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Jan. 25, 2021.
For 47 years, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbury, where she was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, was the Vacation Bible School Director and served on the Christian Education Committee. She currently attended Zion United Methodist Church. She served on the Child Evangelism Committee of Gloucester County and taught Good News Clubs for several years.
Marilyn was in the first class to graduate from Kingsway Regional High School in 1964. She received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1963. She earned a master’s degree from Glassboro State College (now Rowan) in 1976. She taught Beginners (full day Kindergarten) for 37 years in the East Greenwich Township School District. She was Teacher in Charge for many years. She was inducted three times into the Who’s Who of American Teachers after being nominated by three different senior high school honor students. She also received the N.J. Governor’s Recognition Award. When she retired in 2005, a wing of the Jeffrey Clark School in Mickleton was named in her honor.
She enjoyed traveling, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, cooking new recipes and exploring nature. She was a faithful caregiver to her aunt, uncle, father, brother-in-law, sister and her friend Gene Edmund.
She is predeceased by her wonderful parents Mabel and Earl Sweeten, her precious brother-in-law Orville Carpenter and her dear friend Gene Edmund. She is survived by her loving sister Barbara S. Carpenter and many supportive friends and several “adopted” children.

LOGGIA — Carmen Loggia, 75 of Woolwich Twp. passed away Jan. 27 at Methodist Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Campobello-Di Licata, Sicily, he served in the Italian Army and was stationed in Germany. He owned and operated several deli type stores in S. Phila. and New Jersey, residing in South Jersey for the past 16 years, coming from Philadelphia.
He was a strong family man, enjoyed playing cards, traveling, reading and loved to cook. His adventures in farming consisted of renting a plot of land from the township, planting his seedlings, weeding and taking pride in harvesting his produce.
Carmen is survived by his wife of 46 yrs., Carmela (nee Guagliano) his children, Rosa Mary (John) Southard, Marygrace (Vincent) Cacia, Angelo (Lisa) and Salvatore Loggia. His grand-children, Angelo, Carli-Anne, Selena, John, Olivia, Lilly, Giavanna and Gabriella. His Brothers, Jack (Jeannie) and Nicholas (Valerie) Loggia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Charles, John, Carmela and Paola.

CAGLE — Mark D. Cagle, Sr., 59, of Logan Township, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30 with his wife and children at his side at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital following a massive heart attack. Mark moved to Pedricktown at the age of 10 and was a 1980 graduate of Penns Grove High School. He enjoyed spending time with his wife of 36 years, Carol, children Mark Jr. and Morgan, and being “Pop” to his grandsons Matthew and Edwin.
He enjoyed building and painting model cars, drawing, woodworking, riding his motorcycle, and restoring his dream car, a 1971 Dodge Challenger. Mark worked as an auto mechanic for 25 years before establishing his own business, Majestic Landscaping, with Carol in 2005.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Carol (nee Suprun), his son, Mark Cagle, Jr. (Kelly), his daughter, Morgan DeBlasio (Anthony), and his grandsons, Matthew and Edwin Cagle. He is also survived by his brothers, Howard (Jennifer), Gene (Lori), and Erik (Cheryl) as well as many nieces and nephews. Mark is predeceased by his mother, Violet Cagle (nee Burden), and his brother, Michael Cagle, Sr.

FLAHERTY – Annette S. Flaherty (nee Rolfzen) age 82, of Mullica Hill, passed away on Feb. 5 at her home. Annette is survived by her children, Nielle Pacilli of Mullica Hill, Robert Pacilli of Mullica Hill, Michele Pacilli of Statesville, NC, and Derek Pacilli (Jennifer) of Woolwich Twp. Grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 8. She is also survived by her brothers, Rodney Rolfzen, Dale Rolfzen and Neal Rolfzen. Annette is predeceased by her husband John Flaherty and her grandson R.J. Pacilli.

BECKETT — Wendy Beckett, 62, of Woolwich Township.
If Woolwich Township or Swedesboro had a need, Wendy was always there to fill it. She ran the annual Swedesboro Christmas Parade, was the Vice President of the Greater Swedesboro Business Association and headed the Kings Things Holiday Food Drive. This is just to name a few of the million things she was involved in.
Of course, her dedication to her family was no different: she coached soccer, basketball, softball and was active with both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts. Wendy loved sharing her talents in arts and crafts through her programs at Seaville Shores Campground and Pine Haven Campground as well as with her grandkids.
She spent over 30 years doing the books at Swedesboro True Value. When her kids were born, she had them right next to her desk in a playpen. When she was injured on another job, she worked from home to make sure everything continued to run smoothly. Also, she worked as a crossing guard for the Woolwich Police Department for the past 18 years and her earlier years found her driving a bus for Walt’s Bus Service. She was a lifetime member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.
She’d meet a handsome guy named Dean who was a year ahead of her at Kingsway. The high school sweethearts married and shared a 41 year marriage blessed by children, Cliff (Stephanie) of Logan Twp., Jennifer (Keith) of Woolwich Twp. and Brett (Presley) of Woolwich Twp. and grandchildren, Chloe, Colin, and Kaylynn. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Winter of Woolwich Twp., and her sisters, Dr. Donna (Russ) Coco of Staley, NC and Brenda (David) Buechler of Woolwich Twp. She was pre-deceased by her father, Willard and her brother, Wayne. Donations in lieu of flowers to Greater Swedesboro Business Assoc., P.O. MOSSBRUCKER — Janet M. Mossbrucker (nee Marlin) age 83 years of Mullica Hill died Feb. 11 in her home.
Mrs. Mossbrucker was born in Philadelphia, raised in Deptford and was a graduate of Woodbury High School. She worked for a few years at Community College of Philadelphia when they first opened and later worked for 25 years at Camden County College as an administrative secretary. Mrs. Mossbrucker was a devoted member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Clarksboro where she taught Sunday School and helped with the MYF in the 1970’s. She also was a member of the Chit Chats, served as secretary to the Administrative Board and helped with the Blessing Store. She enjoyed taking cruises with her husband, collecting knickknacks and decorating her home for the holidays.
She is survived by her son, Fred and Penny Mossbrucker of Turnersville; 7 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Mossbrucker was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Mossbrucker, her sons, Jeffrey and Carl Mossbrucker; a brother and a sister.
