Valentine Canvas Art – Wednesday, Feb. 9. There will be two classes to choose from – one at 2 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. Create your own unique beaded Valentine art on canvas. Mask wearing required. Space is limited so you must register. Go to www.gcls.org to register.

Page Turner’s Adult Book Club – Tuesday, Feb. 22 – 7 p.m. Join us for our monthly book club. This month’s selection will be The Night Portrait by Laura Morelli. Due to social distancing requirements, space is limited. Mask-wearing is required. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org.

Readers Roundtable 

Weekly on Thursday afternoons:  Thursdays, Feb. 10 – 4 p.m. Visit our website at  www.gcls.org, click classes/events tab find these events and click on the link!  

Grab & Go Bags for adults once-a-month.   Stop in to pick up a “Grab and Go Bag” – one per adult.    Enjoy simple crafts you can do at home!  Supplies are included.  First come, first serve, while supplies last.  We would love for you to snap a photo of your finished crafts and share with us on our Instagram page.

Storytime:

Tuesdays, Feb. 8, 15, & 22 – One class at 10:30 a.m. and one class at 11:15 a.m.  

Wednesdays, Feb. 9, 16, & 23 – One at 10:30 a.m. and one class at 11:15 a.m. 

Sesame Street – A Special Storytime! – In lieu of our regular themed storytimes, we will be doing a 6-week special Sesame Street storytime beginning the week of Jan. 23 and ending the week of March 27. The themes are as follows:  Week 1 – We can volunteer, Week 2 – Be a good neighbor, Week 3 – Be kind, Week 4 – Taking care of earth, Week 5 – Keeping safe, and Week 6 – Don’t give up!.  

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the same program so please only choose one of the days to come. Space is limited. Be sure to register each adult and child. Mask wearing is required. A take-home craft will be provided.

Tiempo de Cuentos Bilingüe – Jueves, 17 de Feb. 2022 – 10:30 a.m. Únete a nosotros para nuestra hora de cuentos bilingüe con Miss Vesna y Miss Terri. El espacio es limitado. Cada adulto y niño debe ser registrado. Se requiere el uso de máscaras. Para registrarse vaya a www.gcls.org.

We are excited to be bringing back our music program, but on a smaller scale.  Don’t miss it:

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, & Play” – Thursday, Feb. 10.  One class will be at 10:30 a.m. and the other at 11:15 a.m. Please only sign up for one class. Mask-wearing is now required. Space is very limited. Be sure to register each adult and child. Toddler Music Time will be the 2nd Thursdays of each month. Go to www.gcls.org to register.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, & Play” – Thursday, Feb. 24. One class will be at 10:30 a.m. and the other at 11:15 a.m. Please only sign up for one class. Mask-wearing is required. Space is very limited. Be sure to register each adult and child. Baby Music Time will be the 4th Thursdays of each month. Go to www.gcls.org to register.

In-Person Reading with FURever as Friends – Sign up to read to one of our adorable therapy animals. Each child will be given a ten-fifteen minute time slot. Find the dates on our virtual calendar and call the library you want to visit to schedule an appointment. A mask is required.

Literacy Buddies – Are you interested in having homework or reading help for your child?  Is your teen interested in helping a child? We provide weekly one-on-one help.  Call 856-467-0111 if interested. This program is currently virtual. 

CHILDREN’S TAKE HOME ACTIVITIES 

Take Home:  Read and Do Bags! Patrons can check out one bag per child at the Swedesboro Library. Each bag will contain 2 to 3 library books, a coloring page, and a simple craft you can do with your child at home. Different themes will be available while supplies last. Please be sure to bring your bag to the circulation desk for checkout.

Storytime Kits – Once a month, pick up a storytime kit. Kits will include one free book, activities, and a craft. One per family while supplies last.

TEENS/TWEENS

Build a House of Cards – Thursday, Feb. 10.  One class will be at 4 and one at 7 p.m. Join us for this fun STEM activity. Can you build a house of cards? It’s not as easy as it looks! Space is limited due to social distancing. Mask wearing is required. Be sure to register!  

Teen Writers’ Club – Monday, Feb. 14 – 7 p.m. If you love writing, need new ideas, like sharing ideas/stories/poems, and/or learning new writing techniques and types of writing – this club is for you. We also have started a literary magazine that your works can be included in! Teen/Tween Book Club – Saturday, Feb. 5 – 12:30 p.m. Join us for our monthly book club. This month we will be discussing Happily Ever After by Elise Bryant. Selections were chosen by the past year’s teens.  Go to www.gcls.org to register. Due to the need for social distancing, space will be limited. Mask-wearing is required.

Make a 3-D Snowflake! – Monday, Feb. 28 – 7 p.m. Make your own cool, large, 3-D snowflake! Space is very limited. Go to www.gcls.org to register. Mask-wearing is required.
