MULLICA HILL — In just under five years since the foundation’s first board meeting, a local breast cancer foundation is proud to announce their 15th charity event.
Pink Clover’s 5th Annual Golf Outing for the Colleen Sorbello Breast Cancer Foundation will be held at the Seaview Golf Club Bay Course in Galloway, NJ on May 26th, with registration starting at 11 a.m. and tee time is at 1 p.m.
The Golf Outing will have an 18-hole tournament, chance at hole-in-one prizes, individual prizes, with a light lunch served before the tournament, dinner to follow the tournament, and beverages available during play.
Pink Clover has partnered with the University of New Haven, which in October of 2018, dedicated a new breast cancer research laboratory named the Colleen Sorbello Research Laboratory. Colleen was a long-time Mullica Hill resident, who bravely fought breast cancer, but unfortunately passed in 2017 from complications due to breast cancer. However, Colleen conceptualized the foundation’s mission, from which her family and friends carried on the idea beginning in late 2017. The foundation’s mission is Research, Educate, and Comfort.
Beginning in early 2018, Pink Clover has partnered with Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center, specifically to help support their research to prevent recurrence of breast cancer. Pink Clover has developed partnerships with Inspira Health and AtlantiCare with their respective breast cancer patient assistance funds.
Part of the proceeds from this golf outing will allow Pink Clover to help a South Jersey woman, formally named Pink Clover’s Comfort Recipient, who is currently battling breast cancer with financial assistance for other life obligations. So far, the foundation has helped 19 women from the South Jersey area.
