Bee-utiful DIY Bee Skeps – Wednesday, April 20.  There will be two classes to choose from – one at 2 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. Looking to switch up some of your indoor decor for spring? Make a DIY bee skep for your kitchen table, mantel, or for your entry table. Space and supplies are limited so you must register. Go to www.gcls.org to register.

Page Turner’s Adult Book Club – Tuesday, April 26 – 7 p.m. Join us for our monthly book club. This month’s selection will be The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore. Space is limited. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org.  

ADULT VIRTUAL PROGRAMS:

Resiliency for You – a virtual program – Monday, April 25 – 6 p.m. “Resiliency for You” is a virtual, resiliency-building workshop from Center for Family Services’ NJ Hope & Healing team. Discussed will be common reactions to the pandemic and how it differs from other disasters, how to recognize your physical and emotional cues of stress, and how to cultivate and refuel your resiliency. You will also have the opportunity to find out about all the free and anonymous services available to help NJ residents cope with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. These services are available to you, your family, school, organization, and/or workplace to address emotional & behavioral health needs as they relate to the pandemic.

NJ Hope & Healing is a Crisis Counseling Program through Center for Family Services whose mission is to assist individuals & communities in recovering from the effects of natural & human-caused disasters through the provision of community-based outreach and psycho-educational services. To register go to www.gcls.org.

Readers Roundtable 

Weekly on Thursday afternoons: Thursdays, April 7, 14, 21, & 28 – 4 p.m. Visit our website at  www.gcls.org, click classes/events tab find these events and click on the link!  

Genealogy Club – Tuesday, April 5 – 4 p.m. – Meeting Room B & Virtual. Meet with other genealogy enthusiasts and share your tips and tricks, to help build your family tree! Visit our website at  www.gcls.org, click the classes/events tab to register. 

Grab & Go Bags for adults once-a-month. Stop in to pick up a “Grab and Go Bag”- one per adult. Enjoy simple crafts you can do at home! Supplies are included. First come, first serve, while supplies last. We would love for you to snap a photo of your finished crafts and share with us on our Instagram page (@gclibs).

Storytime:

Tuesdays, April 5, 12, 19, & 26 – We will now be back to one Tuesday class with our craft in-person.

Wednesdays, April 6, 13, 20, & 27 – We will now be back to one Wednesday class with our craft in-person

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the same program so please only choose one of the days to come. Space is limited. Be sure to register each adult and child.

Homeschooler Fun! – Monday, April 11 – 3 p.m. We will meet the 2nd Monday of each month at 3 p.m. – at this time we will switch back and forth from STEM projects and Meet the Artist.  

In-Person Reading with FURever as Friends – Sign up to read to one of our adorable therapy animals. Each child will be given a ten-fifteen minute time slot. Find the dates on our virtual calendar and call the library you want to visit to schedule an appointment.

Literacy Buddies – Are you interested in having homework or reading help for your child? Is your teen interested in helping a child? We provide weekly one-on-one help. Call 856-467-0111 if interested. This program is currently virtual. 

CHILDREN’S TAKE HOME ACTIVITIES 

Take Home:  Read and Do Bags! Patrons can check out one bag per child at the Swedesboro Library. Each bag will contain 2 to 3 library books, a coloring page, and a simple craft you can do with your child at home. Different themes will be available while supplies last. Please be sure to bring your bag to the circulation desk for checkout.

Grab and Go Bags for children – Stop in to pick up a “Grab and Go Bag”- one per child. Enjoy simple crafts you can do at home! There will be a new craft each week. Supplies are included. First-come, first-served, while supplies last.  

Storytime Kits – Once a month, pick up a storytime kit. Kits will include one free book, activities, and a craft. One per family while supplies last.

TEENS/TWEENS

Teen Writers’ Club – Monday, April 11 – 7 p.m. If you love writing, need new ideas, like sharing ideas/stories/poems, and/or learning new writing techniques and types of writing – this club is for you. We also have started a literary magazine that your works can be included in! Teen/Tween Book Club – Saturday, April 2 – 12:30 p.m. Join us for our monthly book club. This month we will be discussing Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Selections were chosen by the past year’s teens.  Go to www.gcls.org to register. Space will be limited.
