Juneteenth Celebrations:

Juneteenth Celebration and Storytime: Tuesday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m. GCLS Mullica Hill Library, all ages. Interactive storytime with local author Kathleen Lindsey who will read from her book, Run, Faredy Run. Secrets to Freedom. Symbolic quilts will be on display.

22nd Infantry Regiment, United States Colored Troops (USCT): Tuesday, June 15 at 7 p.m. GCLS Logan Township Library. Join local historian Ben Carlton as he discusses the Philadelphia based 22nd USCT Infantry Regiment during the civil war.

The Underground Railroad and Symbolism Used in Quilts: Thursday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m. GCLS Swedesboro Library, ages 13and up. Phyllis Walker will show her many hand-made quilts and discuss the symbolism as it relates to the Underground Railroad. Ms. Walker was part of the 7 Quilts for 7 Sisters program.

Juneteenth History, Resonance and Legacy: Saturday, June 18 at 1 p.m. GCLS Glassboro Library. Learn the history, expansion and enduring significance of our newest national holiday, Juneteenth. Presented by Historian of the Black Experience on the Upper Mid-Atlantic Coast, Dr. James Elton Johnson.

Adult Programs:

Ceremonial Brass Band Concert: Wednesday, June 15 at 7 p.m. GCLS Mullica Hill Library. The local Brass Quintet will feature Broadway show tunes, marches and popular music.

LGBTQIA+ Fundamentals, A Virtual Discussion: Thursday, June 16 at 7 p.m. Join GCLS and the Mazzoni Center, a Philadelphia-based LGBTQIA+ health organization for a discussion on LGBTQIA+ histories and how we can best support everyone in the community.

Pride Month Movie: Caravaggio: Monday, June 20 at 6 p.m. GCLS Swedesboro Library. Join us for a showing of Caravaggio (1986), British biopic of the tempestuous Italian painter.

“What’s It Worth?” Antiques Road Show: Tuesday, June 21 at 6 p.m. GCLS Greenwich Library. Join author Mike Ivankovich for this virtual program as he will reveal what your antiques, collectibles and personal treasures are really worth.

Separating Fact from Fiction Online: Monday, June 27 at 6 p.m. GCLS Swedesboro Library. This program is offering both virtually and in-person. This program will equip you with the valuable tools and resources to help you stay safe online.

Children’s Programs:

 “Oceans of Possibilities” summer Reading Program begins June 25 for all ages, infants through adults! 

Magic by Ed, Summer Reading Kickoff: Saturday, June 25 at 11 a.m. GCLS Glassboro Library. Join us for a fun, interactive magic show!

Digger and Dave, Summer Reading Kickoff: Saturday, June 25 at 12 p.m. GCLS Mullica Hill Library. Join us for an amazing show, all ages welcome!

Andrew’s Big Show, Summer Reading Kickoff: Monday, June 27 at 11 a.m. GCLS Logan Library. Join us for a fun, engaging, entertaining show you won’t forget!

Oceans of Possibilities: Music Play Patrol: Wednesday, June 29 at 1 p.m. GCLS Glassboro Library. Using your imagination, you will explore the depths of the oceans through songs and an interactive story about bullying.

Oceans of Possibilities with Eyes of the Wild: Wednesday, June 29 at 2 p.m. GCLS Mullica Hill Library. Join us for a fun fascinating and educational look at some amazing creatures. Ages 3 and up.

The Ocean in Music: Summer Concert: Wednesday, June 29 at 7 p.m. GCLS Mullica Hill Library. Students from Old Towne Music will perform a concert to celebrate the kickoff of our Summer Reading Program. All ages welcome.
