Shady Lane Nursing Home named one of U.S. News’ Best

CLARKSBORO — The Gloucester County Shady Lane Nursing Home received a top rating from U.S. News in Short Term Rehabilitation (3/3) and Long-Term Care (3/3) landing them on the list of Best Nursing Homes in 2022-2023.

Shady Lane Nursing Home has been part of Gloucester County’s tradition since the 1800’s. A special place where caring and quality long term care to its residents go hand-in-hand, Shady Lane opened the doors to a new state-of-the-art facility in the fall of 2005.

The 60-bed nursing home features 10 private rooms and 25 double rooms, each with its own bathroom and shower, several activity areas, one main nurse station and one satellite station, a modern kitchen and dining area, an amphitheater and a walking trail.

“Shady Lane Home offers its residents quality healthcare, therapeutic recreation, dining and social opportunities. Staff works very hard to make sure that each resident is comfortable and healthy while in our care,” said Director Frank J. DiMarco, liaison to the Gloucester County Improvement Authority.

To be recognized as one of the 2022-2023 U.S. News Best Nursing Homes, a home must have been “High Performing” in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care or both. 2,426 (16 percent) met those criteria out of the 15,178 nursing homes evaluated by U.S. News, of which 1,658 homes were High Performing in short-term rehabilitation, 1,103 homes were High Performing in long-term care and 335 were High Performing in both. Shady Lane received “High Performing” in both areas of criteria.
