Bees & Beekeeping: Thursday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. Learn about the harvesting of honey and the value of honeybees, from Lou Fabiani, local beekeeper. Please register.

Elder Law for You: Monday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. Learn about the planning documents that you need to make sure you and your assets are protected as you age, from Lynda Hinkle, Esq. Also, discussion about helping an elderly family member or friend, understand the different options including powers of attorney and guardianship. Please register.

Library Spooktacular: Wednesday Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. Adults and children alike are invited to our first annual Halloween celebration, with activities and crafts for young and old, and a costume parade.

Computer Basics Class: Thursdays Oct. 26 through Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. Do you feel a little lost or left behind when it comes to computers? This 6 week series will build your knowledge and your confidence. Topics include: Parts of the computer, using the mouse, fixing typos, saving files, filling out forms. FURever As Friends Reading Program: Tuesdays, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m. A group of volunteers bring their specially trained therapy dogs to the library for children to read. All ages. Registration and one-time permission slip required.

Halloween Costume Donation: Through Oct. 6 and 7, all day. Do you have Halloween costumes in good condition, clean or your kids have outgrown them? We would love for you to drop them off at any GCLS Library location anytime until Oct. 7 during open hours.

Family Lego Night: Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m. Make incredible creations with family

and friends and conquer our brick-building challenges! All ages. Please register.

Homeschool Epic Comic Club: Monday, Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. Join our Epic Comic Club and

Halloween Costume Swap: Thursday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. Bring an old Halloween costume and swap it for a new one! Costumes must be gently used. Costumes will be for ages 0 to 17.

Tween Make and Take – Spooky Mason Jars: Thursday, Oct. 19 at 4:30 p.m. Transform mason jars into pumpkins and mummies! Ages 9 to 12. Please register, as supplies are limited.

Socrates Café: Thursdays, Oct.5, 12, 19, and 26 at 10:30 a.m. Join us as we pose questions and exchange our thoughts on subjects selected by the group. No formal education in philosophy is needed, just a questioning mind. Attendance is in-person or virtually.

Adult In-Person Programs

Board and Card Games: Thursdays, Oct. 5, 12, 19, and 26 at 1 p.m. Have a fun time playing board games. A variety of games are played each week.

Knit & Crochet Club: Thursdays, Oct. 5, 12, 19, and 26 at 1 p.m. Beginners are always welcome and provided with instruction along with the supplies needed to get started. Bring something you are working on or something you would like to discuss.

Gaming Get-Together: Fridays, Oct. 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 2 p.m. Get together and play a game with other novices at the library! There is a different game highlighted every week. This is a friendly group, but some experience/knowledge of the game is a plus. Please register as we have limited sets.

Quilting & Sewing Club: Tuesdays, Oct. 10 and 24 at 1 p.m. Learn to quilt or sew! Beginners and experienced quilters are welcome, and experienced quilters are free to bring their project and quilt with some new friends.

Fall Yoga Series: Wednesdays, Oct. 11, 18, and 25 at 6:30 p.m. “Fall” in love with yoga this Fall! Learn different asanas, flows, & breath work to cultivate and connect your mind, body, & spirit. An 8-Week program. Please register.

History Book Club: Monday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. The History Book Club will be held the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Please stop by the circulation desk for this month’s selection.

Scrapbooking & Crafting: Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. Instructor Sandi will show you the basics of scrapbooking and crafting. Please bring photos and embellishments; paper will be

Lake Park Cemetery Tour: Thursday, Oct. 12 at 2:30 p.m. Join Ben Carlton for a tour of Lake Park Cemetery. We will meet at the entrance gate to the cemetery, 701 Park Avenue, Swedesboro. Wear comfortable shoes and bring bottled water. Please register.

Learn to Play Cribbage: Monday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. Learn how to play Cribbage in a short three-hour session with Game Friendzy. All supplies included.

Bridget Bishop – An Accused Witch: Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m. On June 10th, 1692, Bridget Bishop was executed after being found guilty of witchcraft. She was the first of many people executed during the Salem witchcraft crisis of 1692, and her life and death help explain the cause of this tragedy. Mickey DiCamillo will address the questions that swirl around the events of 1692 Salem. Please register.

Tour of Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery: Thursday, Oct. 19 at 2:30 p.m. Join Ben Carlton for a tour of Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery. We will meet at the Mt. Zion AME Church on 172 Garwin Rd, Woolwich Twp. Wear comfortable shoes and bring bottled water. Please register.

Annual “Ghostly” Cemetery Tour: Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. Join Ben Carlton for this exciting “ghostly” tour of the Swedesboro cemeteries. The tour will start at the Margaret Dombrosky Swedesboro Public Library. Be sure to bring a flashlight, wear comfortable shoes,

Meet the Author: Maria Rodale, Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. Meet the author of Love, Nature, Magic: Shamanic Journeys into the Heart of My Garden. Ms. Rodale has received many awards for her lifetime of service and activism.
