SWEDESBORO — Over the last six months, there has been a large increase in the number of requests for financial help and food from the King’s Things Food Pantry.
The Grinch is the inflation that ate away family finances, changing working people into the working poor. Children and seniors are the most affected.
We can help. Remember when you exchanged Christmas gifts? Just think of donating a gift as a long distant gift exchanging for a little girl or boy. The smile you put on that child’s face will be your gift.
With this in mind you can help. All the families in need that we serve are from within the Kingsway sending district. All families are vetted.
As in previous years, churches in the area will have Giving Trees with mittens with a child’s age and gender. King’s Things, 1402 Kings Hwy in Swedesboro will also have one. Pick a mitten and buy and donate a gift for a child that age.
Our holiday food basket program is also in need of your help. The food items and gifts must be sorted and packed for delivery. If you would like to help, the schedule for this year: Monday, Dec. 18 – Sorting; Wednesday, Dec. 20 – Packing; Thursday, Dec. 21 – Gift Sorting; Saturday, Dec. 23 – Delivery. Volunteers are always needed. If you can help, please call 856-467-3066.
