Holiday food program a success thanks to community

From Gerry Siglow, President Kings Things

Thank you, thank you the wonderful people of the Greater Swedesboro Area. You made our Thanks Giving and Christmas Programs a great success. At Thanksgiving with a donation form Acme Markets and the Total Turf Experience King’s Things via a drive through distributed 250 turkeys and sides and 500 Acme gift cards. The volunteers did a fantastic job.

I believe in angels. The angels that ran the Christmas Program appeared, Jo Anna Gahrs, Mary Beth Rambler, Virginia Goitiandia and her daughter Gabrial, Deb Morris, Barbara Siglow and JoAnn Dunn. Without their dedication and hard work, it would not have happened.

The generosity of the schools, Julie Donahue of the Swedesboro/Woolwich School System and Cinza Neary, Eryn Gervasi and Bob Harison of the Logan Township School systems that collected over seven pickup trucks full of non-perishable food. Challenged with loading, transporting and off loading is a challenge. Ron Baus and the Spirit Dodge Boys came to our rescue. Those fantastic guys and those magnificent Ram Trucks saved the day.

Expanding the locations of the Giving Trees required the help of Gretchen and Marilyn King’s Things Retail managers as well as Carmen Flores who translates for us. So many people to be thankful for the help in sorting packing and delivery. Please forgive me if missed your name or your organization, namely the church from Woodstown.

You have brought so many smiles on so many faces, feed so many people and said that we are a community that cares. God Bless you and hope to see you next year.
