Swedesboro Woolwich Day – a celebration of community & togetherness

SWEDESBORO — As the leaves begin to change color and the air carries the promise of autumn, the community gears up for its most anticipated event of the year, Swedesboro Woolwich Day

Held on the last Saturday of September in downtown Swedesboro, this year’s festivities fall on Sept. 28, with the promise of uniting over 8,000 friends, neighbors, and families in a vibrant celebration of community spirit.

The day kicks off with the Dragon Run 5k and 1 mile walk, a cherished 18-year-old tradition that embodies the resilience and camaraderie of the town. Participants of all ages will lace up their running shoes to support a great cause, with the backdrop of the early morning sun casting a golden hue over the starting line (www.naterocksheaven.org/DragonRun).

As the clock strikes 9 a.m., the heart of Swedesboro will come alive with the buzz of activity. The event, proudly sponsored by Inspira Health Network, is a rain or shine affair, showcasing the indomitable spirit of its residents.

More than 150 booths will line Kings Highway, offering a kaleidoscope of crafts, local business offerings, artisanal creations, non-profit information, and an array of delectable food trucks that promise to tantalize every palate.

A highlight of the day is the car show, where automotive enthusiasts will display their prized vehicles, vying for trophies and accolades across various categories. It’s not just a feast for the eyes, but a testament to the passion and dedication of the car community.

Same day car show registrations are available.

Children will find a wonderland of free activities waiting for them, from the gravity-defying moon bounce to the artistry of face painting, the whimsy of balloon twisting, and the thrill of a giant slide. These activities are made possible through the generous support of event sponsors, ensuring that the day is filled with laughter and joy for our youngest attendees.

The main stage at Schoener’s Service Station will be the cornerstone of entertainment, featuring performances from local dance troupes and music studios that showcase the talent nestled within the community.

As the day draws to a close, the band, Olde City, will take the stage, ensuring the event ends on a high note with their captivating melodies.

To accommodate attendees, free shuttles will run continuously from Kingsway High School and Stratton Elementary, ensuring that the celebration is accessible to all.

Swedesboro Woolwich Day is more than just an event. It’s a testament to the strength and unity of a community that comes together to celebrate life, culture, and togetherness.
