Attention Parents of Young Children – Cell Phone Sally and Friends will be visiting the Woolwich Township Municipal Building on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cell Phone Sally is a popular 9-1-1 mascot who, along with her friends, teaches children various 9-1-1 life-saving skills.

The job of Cell Phone Sally is to teach kids how to use 9-1-1 when they need police, the fire department, or an ambulance. This event is free and is conducted by Gloucester County Emergency Medical Services. This program is ideal for young children in pre-K to second grade.

There will be various activities for the children. No registration is required.

CPR CLASS

Parks and Recs is offering a Free Hands Only CPR Class on Saturday Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Woolwich Twp Municipal Building. This is a non-certificate class that will teach the basics of CPR.

PICKLEBALL TOURNEY

Woolwich Pickleball Tournament will be held on Sept. 21 and 22 (Rain Date Sept. 23), at the Woolwich Pickleball Complex, 120 Village Green Drive Woolwich Township, NJ 08085. Tournament Play is for the Intermediate Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles (below 3.75 level) and Advanced Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles (Above 3.75 level).

For each division, there will be three pools of five teams each for a maximum total of 15 teams. Cost is $40 for one person, one event. To play in a second event the cost would be an additional $20. See our Facebook page for details!

BUS TRIP

The Swedesboro Woolwich Parks and Recreation Committee is hosting a Bus Trip to Lititz, Lancaster County, PA on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The cost is $70 per person.

A motorcoach, which includes complimentary wi-fi and a restroom, will pick you up at 9 a.m. at Locke Avenue Park, 58 Locke Avenue, Swedesboro and then take you to Lititz, Pennsylvania.

Founded in 1756, Lititz is steeped in rich history. In fact, you’ll quickly see why it was named America’s Coolest Small Town in 2013.

Your day will include A guided tour of the 1792 Johannes Mueller House, where you’ll learn how a typical Moravian family lived and worked during the 18th century. A guided tour of Julius Sturgis Pretzel Factory.

Twist your own pretzel and learn about America’s oldest commercial pretzel bakery. A guided tour of the Lititz Moravian Church and Archives. Here, you’ll gain insight on early Lititz Moravian history and customs.

In addition, you will receive a 10 percent discount in Lititz Historical Foundation’s gift shop, and three hours for lunch and shopping on your own.

The bus pickup at the end of the day will be at 5 p.m. at the Wilbur Chocolate store located at 45 North Broad Street, Lititz.
