EDWARDS — Beth Edwards, age 48, of Woolwich Township passed away on Nov. 2 after a brave and hard-fought battle with breast cancer.

Born in Woodbury, NJ, she graduated from Kingsway High School Class in 1994, and TCNJ in 1998.

In 1997, she met Christopher J. Edwards, and they married on Nov. 10, 2001. Amy worked in the field of HR/accounting, and was employed by multiple companies throughout her life. She most recently did bookkeeping for several small businesses, and before that worked for the Alloway School District.

Amy loved animals, going over and above to help strays. She volunteered weekly with her daughter at the Salem County Humane Society, aided in catching/spaying/releasing feral cats in her neighborhood, and attempted to foster shelter dogs and cats. “Attempted” meaning that she was a five-time Foster Fail, many times ending up adopting her temporary guests. She loved all of her pets, but especially their horse, Mud, and her constant feline companion Mokey.

Throughout her life, Amy was involved in many activities, making lifelong friends at every step along the way. She was still close with her Phi Sigma Sigma sorority sisters, the members of the Tri Club she was involved in for many years, and her coworkers from every past job.

It was easy to be friends with Amy. She was especially active in supporting her children’s activities, and was always willing to get her hands dirty, sometimes literally, to help out. This included working many afternoons in the concession stand, serving as Kingsway Youth Football treasurer, and spending countless hours with her daughter caring for Mud on the farm.

Nothing gave her more joy than watching her son play sports, especially baseball, and her daughter ride and compete with her horse.

Amy was a member of Sharptown United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping with various church activities. She never tired of trips to Disney World and Universal Studios with her family, and travelling to Ocean City, NJ and Outer Banks, NC.

Amy was strong, courageous, funny, beautiful, intelligent, brilliantly sarcastic, and fiercely protective of family. She maintained her positive attitude and sense of humor until the very end. She was a phenomenal and selfless mother who would go to the ends of the earth for her children. Amy will be sorely missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known her in this life.

She is survived by her husband, Chris; her two children, Landon Christopher Edwards and Taylor Emma Edwards; her parents, David H. Eastlack and Ruth (nee Mullen); two sisters, Sharon Eastlack Sharlow and her husband, Scott, and Deborah Eastlack Strano and her husband, Marc; brothers-in-law, Donald Edwards and his wife, Nancy, and Scott Edwards and his wife, Andrea; sister-in-law, Jeanine Harman; and 14 nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her horse, Mud; two dogs, Max and Kibbles; and four cats, Brooklyn, Bronx, Mokey, and Marley. Amy was predeceased by her in-laws, Bruce S. and Joan F. Edwards.
