Main Street Baseball Club Presents $6,000 Donation to Pink Clover Foundation

EAST GREENWICH — Main Street Baseball Club is proud to announce the presentation of a $6,000 donation to the Pink Clover Foundation, a local Swedesboro nonprofit dedicated to assisting women who are struggling while battling breast cancer.

Currently, one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer. The Pink Clover Foundation focuses on three key fundamentals: research, education and comfort.

The donation will directly benefit the charity’s ongoing programs and initiatives to support individuals affected by breast cancer.

“This donation represents a huge impact for our organization,” said Sam Sorbello, founder and CEO, Pink Clover Foundation. “As an all-volunteer nonprofit, we rely on donations to provide the support and resources to those fighting breast cancer.”

The funds were raised during Main Street’s 5th Annual Strike Out Cancer Baseball Tournament, which drew over 40 youth baseball teams from throughout Southern New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

“We are thrilled to be able to make such an impactful donation to Pink Clover,” said Kevin Murphy, co-founder, Main Street Baseball Club. “Many of the moms, grandmas, aunts and friends of Main Street players have been directly impacted by breast cancer, this is a natural fit for our organization to contribute to.”

Founded in 2019, Main Street Baseball Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving players in Southern New Jersey and surrounding areas, offering competitive baseball and softball programs focused on individual player development, team growth and community involvement. The Pink Clover Foundation was founded by family and friends after the passing of Colleen Sorbello in 2017. While she was fighting breast cancer for four years she participated in many trials and was passionate about finding a way to make the treatment less harsh for the women fighting breast cancer.

It was important to her family and friends to continue Colleen’s fight and so the Pink Clover Foundation was born. For more information, visit: https://www.pinkcloverfoundation.org/
