King’s Things Requests

SWEDESBORO — Every Christmas we hear the story of a little girl that asked a newspaper, is there a Santa Claus? I know there is one. A Virgina, a Mery Beth, a Joanna, a Debbie and a Dan.

These are the people that make the Christmas program at Kings Things a great success

Kings Things is much more than a once a year “gig”.  They are more than a thrift and furniture store. They are a group of dedicated volunteers that generate the funds needed in order to fulfill our mission, to feed and clothe the needy.

It is a pantry that we open three days per week, 52 weeks per year. Feeding the needy sometimes is not enough. Last month, King’s Things paid for four deliveries of fuel oil, three South Jersey Gas bills, as well as a few Atlantic City Electric bills.

These were documented emergencies that required multiple phone calls preventing the cold from compounding things.

In 2024, King’s Things benevolence disbursed close to $30,000 to our neighbors as well as a significant amount of funds to stock our pantry.

What King’s Things needs is simple. Your time, talent, or your treasure to make these things continue to happen.

Sincerely, Gerry Siglow
