Clothing Drive for the Homeless Update

CLARKSBORO — Thank you to all who have overwhelmingly helped to keep so many people warm this winter by donating coats and warm clothing for homeless adults.

At Zion UMC in Clarksboro, we have an ongoing ministry collecting clothing and other items to support “If Not for Grace Ministries” to the homeless. After putting information about this ministry in The New Town Press in January, we were so grateful for the outpouring of items we have received.

We have collected MANY carloads full of coats, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jeans, sweaters, hats, gloves, boots, and so many other items, which have all gone to people who are living on the streets.

If Not for Grace Ministries provides direct support to homeless adult populations in a variety of locations including Kensington, Vineland, Camden, and others. They have a trailer outfitted with showers, and they travel to these places on a regular basis to provide for homeless adults a chance to wash, clothing, food, personal care items, wound care, and Bibles.

We hope you will continue to help us support this ministry all year. For the month of March, we are focusing on new and very gently used adult socks and underwear, but we will continue to take any cold weather clothing you may wish to donate.

In addition, as the weather warms in the spring, please bring warm weather appropriate items. The need is always great for jeans and sweats, underwear and socks, bath towels, sleeping bags and backpacks, all year long.

If you would like to contribute, please bring your donations to Zion UMC, 242 Kings Highway,

Clarksboro. Please put all the items in the large brown plastic box at the back of the church, next to the kitchen door. If you have any questions, you can call the church office at (856) 423-2000. Thank you so much for your support of this important ministry!
